Detailed Thunder Fighter Project

Just a suggestion, and hopefully this will take some pressure off Revell and Rhaven, if anyone want's to re-color their Thunder Fighter just use a different color card stock and perhaps print the color insignia separately as stickers. I think it looks really great in beige or cream, (the full size prop on the show seemed to be this color on set). Also off-white, pale blue or perhaps even a nice Galactica grey, (as the ship was the original design for the Colonial Viper). Perhaps even mix parts of different colors to get a really unique custom design. The ship's design is pretty versatile and there's a lot you can do with it as Revell-Fan has shown.

Here is an update on the progress of the HBB-TF.

As you can see, I have raised some of the panels on the engine section and attached the cockpit.

I have finished the engine section and the exhausts.
I this that I have put as much detail into these exhausts as I can.
I think that these will be the standard of which all the rest of my (BRTC25 TF) models will be based on.

Here are the photos for your viewing pleasure:

I am going to focus on the canopy next. I have an idea for a sliding canopy that I have not tried yet.
So the next update may take a little longer then expected. I (of course will post photos of the sliding mechanism and how it works.

Stunning, simply stunning.:yep: The front end is as fantastic as the engine exhaust/back end. Cant wait to see how the sliding canopy comes out. This one is on my list to build someday. I hope I can add some of those little details that you have shown here. With your permission of course. Not ready to tackle something like this yet but hopefully someday. Thanks for the inspiration. Thank you for the compliments.
That is one of the many reasons why I post these photos, is to give everyone the inspiration to take their own models to the highest level that they can.
If you want to use any technique or idea that that I have used to build a particular model, by all means, please do so. The only thing that I ask, is that you post photos of your build showing such techniques.

That is one of the many things I GREATLY enjoy about this forum. Is that there are very talented people here that someone can draw inspiration and learn from. Needless to say, I have drawn a TON of inspiration and learned ALOT from everyone that I have met here.

So I look forward to seeing some of your work very soon.

Well ladies and gentlemen, I have finally finished the cockpit canopy and yes, it slides.
