Hi I'm Christian,

I'm a pretty avid Papercrafter and I tend to specialize in mecha. I'm also an experienced costumer and I'm looking for just the right project to merge the two. Currently I'm thinking about doing a costume based on one of the characters from Transformers Prime :D

I'm a huge fan of Transformers but I also like building the odd Gundam. Articulation is key though and if a model is just a paper statue then I'm far less likely to build it. High end paper action figures on the other hand... that gets me pretty excited ^__^

In addition to building existing models I also like designing my own. So far I've released on my site "re-skins" (with permission) for CliffJumper version of Paperinside's BumbleBee and a weathered/textured version of Papertang's Constructicon Scrapper. Lately I've been releasing my own models of characters from Transformers Prime. The original model was generally based on the "cradles" from littleroller.blogspot.com but I've done a lot of redesign work on them. I'm also working on a rule book for a miniatures combat game to go with the paper models :)

I look forward to getting to know more of you and sharing in knowledge and our love of our hobbies.

Christian

Thanks silveroxide, I've seen some good stuff so far :)

What unit are you with?

A lifetime and a half ago (1996-7) I was stationed down at Bragg myself. I was w/ the 50th Sig Btn ABN over on Smoke Bomb Hill. There are plenty of days when I miss putting my knees to the breeze man. lol

Oh, it's linked to in my signature, but folks can check out the stuff I've been working on over on my blog: http://wulongti.com/blog/

I am long retired from the military, December 1988. Since then I have done a few weird stuff working for the DOD and working as a role player and instructor over at Camp Macall. My last adventure, was for the DOS recently in Baghdad. That Trojan Horse patch, was the original 1st SOCOM patch, long since retired as well. Time to sit back and let the younger guys take over. I am not as quick as I used to be, I had my time, now it is some one else to pick the slack. Enjoy the forum and hope to see your works soon.

By the way, I had a short stint in New jersey at Toms river. My mother is still alive and lives there.

That's pretty awesome and God bless you for going the long way around :)

I worked w/ a couple of guys at SOCOM from time to time... I have to say, they had the best chow hall for lunch and dinner though... lol Never went there for breakfast, spent every morning over at the psyops chow hall.

Being in SOCOM did you go "triple canopy"? Our Brigade Chaplin (35th Sig) had.. nothing but the utmost respect for that guy. If memory serves, he had gone through SERE school too...
