I'll say it before anyone else does, we used stone knives and bear skins to assemble our first mnemonic memory circuits. *smile*

I can still remember the old computer punch cards that had "PLEASE DO NOT FOLD, SPINDLE, OR MUTILATE" printed on them and you needed an entire shoe box full of these cards just for one program.
God forbid, if you put them in the wrong order.

I suspect this project has gone the way of many we all have started and still have on the shelf meaning to get back to. The idea is great, though. I've often thought it would cool to do a movie/TV soundstage set or two. ST TOS is a great subject. I think if I were going to do so I would start with the excellent Ron Caudillo TOS bridge, modify it, and work from other sources for the rest. I know there's at least one Sketchup model portraying the TNG corridors, but I've not run across one of the TOS sets yet.

BTW, here's a great site featuring set layout plans of of most of the Star Trek series:

Hi all,
Thanks Hollywood for the consideration!

I'd look into this project but am pretty swamped (as are MOST of us) with other projects, etc. I guess the only way I can help would be to send you the AutCAD and/or CorelDraw files I made when I designed the bridge. I do not mind sending my work if it benefits the hobby, the project is available for free download, and somewhere on the model, I am given credit for providing the bridge design.
Best Regards,

Don't remind me about how 'useless' my two years of FORTRAN I took at college has become and the seemingly endless hours of keypunch I had to do so regarding the cards Rhaven Black mentioned.

My oldest brother got his Computer Science degree in 1980. I remember gonig with ihim to watch him load his program into their mainframe using punch cards. At the time he was able to read them just by looking at them. I also remember one of the highlights of those trips to the NTSU computer lab was that he'd run his teletype Star Trek game and let my other brother and I play it while he worked.

@ Patron Zero- I believe that you were ATTEMPTING to build those mnemonic circuit out of stone knives and bear skins. sign1

I didn't know this was one of your projects, or did you start one? I have started many a project, I may actually finish one someday! :)
