Be amazed and be grateful

This is a "I just figured it out" message. :)

Listen folks, Uhu is THE master of the craft and we should be eternally grateful that he chooses to share his incredible models with us at all! And that for FREE! The fact that Uhu has not shut down his site altogether despite the numerous instances of people stealing his stuff and trying to make money of his intellectual and creative property is a testament to how much Uhu believes in the spirit of the paper modeling community. The Uhu appreciation thread has all the information that you need to access his files.

Different subject. After seeing Uhu's model of the Valley Forge I rented the movie "Silent Running" from which the ship is taken. As a longtime sci-fi fan I should be embarrassed to have not seen the movie earlier. Great movie (although the younger generation will find the effects wanting) great story. Highly recommend it.

Silent Running is one of my all time favorites. I saw it when it came out, and it was one of those movies that I know helped form my opinions. It is still valid in it's premise, maybe even more so now!:thumb:

I am happy you figured it out.:thumb:

Still looking

All,
I am still trying to work out a way to access Uhu02 library. I have read the posts that he wrote. I found the link but I haven't figured out the login and password.

Hope I get it soon:confused:

I am sorry Uhu-san has announced the closed library, but understand his frustration at people who have abused his generosity.
I look up to his creations as fantastic works of art, both in the unfinished and finished form and realize that there are only a couple of them that are realistically within my ability to build.
That makes me appreciate his buildings skills even more.
Thanks for everything and thanks in advance for any models that you do share with us in the future.

Yeah, everyone should chill. This has happened before and will happen again. A treasure hunt goes better with a calm, attentive mind. Kick back with a good short story. I recommend Poe's "The Purloined Letter."

I bow down to your designing superiority!

UHU02 - The GRAND MASTER!!!!

I have collected all your models available (that I can find) from 2001 A Space Odyssey.
I have recently started the Discovery.....

I stood open mouthed and slack jawed when I saw her.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!

You have realized a long standing dream to own and build a model of the Discovery (and the rest!!!)

How have you progressed with the model of Space Station V from 2001 ???
Last I saw, you were still in the design stages.

Again, my greatest respect to you, and please keep up the FANTASTIC work!!!! :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::wave::wave:

UHU02 thank you for all your ideas and the plans to realise it

I can take all the friends and admirers of Uhu02 only connect, he is a grandmaster in the construction of paper models. And I'm glad that I have some of its (simple) models on my chopping board. Thank you UHU02 ... - Text via Google translation

Infinitamente agradecido

Cuando una persona comparte algo de forma desinteresada hay que agradecerlo; pero cuando es tambien un trabajo de gran calidad, que requiere un tiempo y esfuerzo considerable simplemente uno queda en deuda.

xavs stated, quite eloquently in Spanish which unfortunately does not sound as nice in English but the thought conveys well, the following;

When a person shares something voluntarily, we are obliged to show our gratitude, but when it is also a high-quality work, which requires considerable time and great effort, we are simply indebted.

This translation is not what Google Translate will give you but is what a Spanish speaking person would understood if they read it. IMHO :)

Very well written. Thank You Xavs! :)

All I can say is GENIUS!!!!!
Thanks so much UHU!!
I think some build pics are soon needed!!
Thanks again UHU!!!!
You inspire me to not only build great models, but design them too!!

P.S. UHU, as a suggestion if at all possible, could you consider embedding Google Translate into your site? as after 'login', Google Translate won't work and it makes instructions for builds that little bit more difficult!

AGAIN, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
