BSG Chariot by Revell Fan

[ASC Mclaren]

Hiya! Revell Fan honored me by asking if I would like to do the test build of the BSG Chariot. The Chariot was seen in the episode "Magnificent Warriors".
It is very like the Landram, except it has no cab, and a pickup truck like bed, and it is shorter by one wheel set.

I am building this as printed, by the instructions, in 1:18 scale; exactly as I received it from Revell Fan. My first impression was that it was too wide, RF sent me a gob of screenshots. He researched this out nicely! I will be sending my findings to RF, but I am posting the build for you all to see:thumb:

Thank you! Great work, ASC! It looks exactly as designed. I'm glad the instructions are clear enough. If test-building is complete, I'll rescale this version to get one in 1:24 and one in 1:32.

You are doing an OUTSTANDING job on this test build.
Everything looks GREAT!
As for the finger. I sorry that it happened. I remember the first time I cut my finger while making a model. I was about 13 yo. at the time and I was cutting corrugated cardboard. The knife slipped and cut my finger (just below the first knuckle) deep enough that I needed three stitches. Yes, I still have the scar after 30 years. Fortunately, I still have full use of the finger (and i have not cut myself sense, knock on wood).

Thank you! Thank RF, his design is great! And it was a stupid mistake. I have scars from a childhood of building plastic model. I felt so stupid because I work in an industrial lab where we train people how to build airplanes and safety is always #1. Yet I carelessly reach into my hobby drawer and become a blood donor. Dumb.

I didn't realize that you were building such a big model, very cool!

Sorry 'bout the Boo-Boo on your finger. Crazy glue works great on really clean cuts like that. It also has great for it's anti-biotic properties.

Very fast and neat looking because you take care to retouche the white edges. If you'll retouche also about a milimeter of the flaps (from the bend line) the effect will be even better.

I like my Olfa AK-3 because it has a cap you can put on when not using the knife. All you need to do is to train yourself to always put it on when you put the knife down.

One more thing I found painful and frustrating to remember - if the knife or a part you're making falls out from your hands never try to catch it by putting your legs together. To the contrary, spread them apart... and move the feet out of the way!

Pulling out a hobby knife embedded blade deep in your leg is not something you want to experience. Trust me

Another reason I like AK-3 - it's blade is shorter than Exacto

No, no, it was, I read it. Tab A into slot B, roll part 58 and glue, repeat five times, cut finger, bleed on parts, repeat as necessary sign1
