Star Wars comes as my favourite science fiction movie because it is the only one of the franchises where I generally like everything about it, or can find good in almost all of it.

Deep Space Nine had some amazing ideas, but the execution was flat.

Of course, MOST of its best ideas were from Babylon 5 ...

Anyone remember Fireball XL5, tv series from the 1960s? A model of the title spacecraft or its launch rails would be a fun build.

Why not post an Introduction to yourself, in the "Introductions" area, and state your interests, then we can point you to where you can find such models. Making your first post in this kind of thread will have most people doubt your sincerity. I thought you were a Spammer.

“Inception” is my favourite Sci-Fi movie so far and I loved the fine performance of the entire cast of this movie, “Inception” has an excellent story and it makes me crazy when I was watching it first time on theatre.

Favorite Sci-Fi Film

2001: a Space Odyssey.

  • I loved the models and the way that they were used. (No computer assist in those days.)
  • The Orion landing scene, and the lunar landing scene were just exquisitely done.
  • Let us not forget how skillfully Kubrick juxtaposed Strauss' 19th Century music with 21st Century technology.
BTW: You might want to read Clarke's short story "The Sentinel." It is, in my opinion, one of the finest Sci-Fi short stories ever written.
