I am willing to add the Turbo Bike to my BSG collection.
I would have it parked right next to the Landram.

They showed those bikes in one episode. That was back when I was riding my Yoshima engined 1976 CB400F (then 458 cc ). They looked far worse on TV than they did on the T.V. show, with them riding. Never could figure out why the bikers crashed. Funny thing is, they seem to not have dated as much as the show has!

Thanks for the video Zathros. I still think the bikes look COOL! Seeing the video the handlebars look to be reshaped or relocated. I think I saw a drawing or a photo somewhere on the web of them designing or building the bikes. It seems like they used a set of metal plates to move the handle bars a foot forward of the normal location. I had never heard that they were designed for the original series. I had heard about the Buck Rogers Thunderfighter being the original design for the Viper. I picked up Battlestar Galactica 1980 a few weeks ago on Amazon for like $10.00 and rewatched them. Isn't there an episode where the Viper helmets are a different design? I always loved the originals but these seemed to me more streamlined and less egyptian.

I think I like those handlebars because my Honda was set up as a Cafe Racer. I had clip on on it, hand bent exhaust, etc The Battlestar bikes really reached out to the cafe racer style bikes of that era, I think that is why they had those. I think they look cool. Even in that clip, they make those old choppers look antiquated. The Suzuki XN85 looks very similar. I think the resemblance is uncanny!

Hello again! Here a little update: I have picked up the Blaster again and am assembling the coloured prototype now. Everything is fitting well, the model is about 65 % complete. I was slowed down a bit by a nasty cold which literally knocked me out for a whole week; btw, this is the reason, too, why I was so rare here these days. I'm writing the instructions on the fly. Once everything is ready I will send the whole package to RB for a final test build. Please stay tuned, the model will be ready soon!

These are the first parts pages for the coloured prototype. The model is about 85 % complete. I'm now working on the greeblies, and there are many of them. The second pic shows only what's going to be attached to the muzzle. The last pic shows all current parts loosely put together. Even at this stage it does not look like paper any more!

This is looking FANTASTIC!!!
It looks like it will be fun to build.

Just a suggestion, you should also make it with an optional cardstock mussel for those who can not (or do not want) to build a light and sound system in it.

Thank you all!!! RB, I have already done that. There is a version for clear parts and a black version, mainly because some sorts of clear sheet don't bend easily and tend to break while folding. There are two types of formers in the kit, too; one can be used as a battery case and the other one as an ordinary former to prevent the handle from being crushed by a tight grip. I will add a white Ship-of-Lights / timetravel version, too, which can also be used to be printed on coloured paper to save ink. Currently 90% of the blaster is done. I'll add some pics when I've coloured the edges. CU!

Before I can attach the greeblies to their bases I have to paint the edges. This is very tedious because there are so many of them and fairly dirty. After painting the parts can be easily confused with pieces of liquorize, so I'm thinking of adding a special note to the instructions ;-) ..! The pics show both sides of the main block. The blaster is about 95 % complete. Next will be the big center greeblie on the right side, the Apollo antenna array on the top side and final assembly of all parts. Stay tuned!

This is really coming together nicely.
It is going to be a beautiful blaster once it is finished.

I can't wait for this one. I'd love to build one for my art studio wall. I'm thinking of building a sci fi weapons display. Shadowbox frame with a sci fi panel background printed on the poster printer. Great work.

I've come up with a little stand with a wood texture. I'm posting pics as soon as the whole thing is ready. BTW, 99 % done!
