Excellent work roger :thumb: , more pics are better for someone to be building Roger Young as a help line.

Great start, and a picture speaks a thousand words, so don't worry about that. That ruler you are using is too flexible. I have one, and it's great for drawing. You need something very rigid, that will give you better bends.

(text type spelling doesn't work good on forums, yuo aer bettre jsut speleling teh wrod tuo.) :)

Looking good! When it is complete, you will enjoy coming back through the thread and look back at the history of your model in pics.

I use the ruler to guide my knife as a score the bends. It makes the bend easier to do.Thanks for the advice more pics to come.i have got to find a marker to paint in my lines....LOL

You might want to try two different green colored Sharpies, on other combination, to get the color you want. It is amazing how close you can get with the Sharpies, it also adds a neat effect to the edges. :)

Water color paints work well due to filling in the folds, and then can be feathered into the rest of the parts.......try not to feather over portholes.

Hi all.... I know it has been a while but camera issues and work has kept me away from the RY. I know it is not perfect but here r some more pics of my progress...hope they help ppl with placement etc. Please note that the wedge shape piece is not glued in place but is generally where it goes.

Take a Sharpie or something to those edges. It will help out a lot, other than that, it's really coming along nice. it will be a beastly sized creature when done! :)

Don't use a sharpie. You will have a permanent opps mark when you go off the folds. I used water based paints. You can whipe up excess and feather the color into the parts.

Yes, don't use Sharpies I use them, but only to color a whole part, like an antenna or something. My bad. Water based pain, and you can color match it that way.:eek:ops:

Well confession is gd 4 the soul they say soooooo.. i got over ambitious and already did my folds with a black sharpie. It does not look bad to me i did a fairly gd job on it and i have a steady hand. My camera is charging so i will post a pic of it and let the experts do the deciding after a while.

Anything that breaks the edge is good enough. I remember when I first started out, actually cutting off any protruding white part. From some angles, those models looked great, and they blowed up really good, prodigious use of M-80's! :)
