Walked into a bookstore in Doncaster today, one of the first books I noticed was 'build your own paper robots'. So, being a paper/card modeller I thought I would have a look and to my surprise the names of Julius Perdana and Josh Buczynski were on the front.

It is a A4 hardback book and 1 cd is included. It has design's from Julius Perdana, Josh Buczynski, Axel Bernal, Elso Lopez, Arif Suseno and Kurt Young. There is also a special thanks inside the book for Claudio Dias.

Do any of the designers know that the book exists, this is the first time I have ever seen it. It has copyright notice by Ilex press limited inside the front cover.

I've not had chance to look at the cd yet, but the book is well presented and the book store had about 20 copies of it. It has prices of $18.95 US and $23.95 canadian, I got the book for £3.50 :thumb:.

what a price too expensive i think

Giande, a book that comes with a CD is a great deal for that price. By American standards, anyways. Of course, this difference in countries to countries, and with people's situations. :)

If you look at what I wrote, I paid £3.50, thats about $5.50 US, And you think thats expensive.

You never know where people come from, it may indeed seem expensive to some. We revel in the societies we live in. Great book, Great price. I'd scan it before I cut it. Good books are getting very hard to come by! Nice job Paul. :)

Maybe you could carry it on your website, even if is something people order from you, then you get from them, much like Amazon does.:)

Thanks John :)

Actually chatting with Claudio to see if the people that designed for the book would like me to carry their models directly :) That would be pretty sweet.

Two highly neglected parts of paper modeling (In my opinion) are original sci-fi and civilian stuff.

For what it's worth, I had a nose around Amazon uk upon seeing this post, and there are what appears to be three books, well, they have different covers anyway.

Build your own Robot - First in the list

Build your own Robot - Second in the list

Build your own Robot - Third in the list

Links are to the Amazon UK website

All three relatively cheap depending on your definition of "affordable." If they're available through Amazon UK, it seems reasonable to think that they'll also be available through other regional outlets.

Hope that helps somebody who's curious about these.

When discussing a bookfind like this, it would be very usefull to share the ISBN number as well, that way it's easy to order it from any bookstore around the world ;)

Sorry I've not been around much these days guys, things going on that are keeping me away.

I did go back to the shop about a week after I bought it and there were none left, when I originally bought mine there was about 10/15 in store.

Anyway, ISBN numbers on my book.

ISBN-13: 978-0-312-57370-6

ISBN-10: 0-312-57370-7
