I attached a few greebles that I forgotten on the front section of the main body.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT WHEN BUILDING THIS MODEL. YOU DO NEED TO LOOK AHEAD AT THE INSTRUCTIONS AND SEE IF THERE ARE ANY PARTS THAT ARE ATTACHED LATER ON THAT YOU CAN ATTACH NOW.

Here are the photos.

I did not have any problems with the assembly.

This gun system has quite a few greebles to it. For those who like to add even more detail, there is room for a little more.

I had to make a spindle that would attach to the turret plate to make the gun turret swivel.
The dimensions of the spindle are 40mm long by 35mm wide (the 5mm part of the width is used for a glue tab.)

Just looking at the cockpit, with all the details that are on this thing, Why not add a frame around the windows, too?

Just looking at the cockpit, with all the details that are on this thing, Why not add a frame around the windows, too?

That is a good question. I did think about doing such, but this build is just about pointing out problems with this model and offering my solutions for such problems. I am not adding anything extra, even though this model offers the opportunity to add even more detail. If I decide to build this model again, then I will (of course) add even more detail to the cockpit canopy (as well as other areas).

Badass. Would love to see what kind of texture idea you can come up with. :thumb:

For anyone who likes to detail a model, this one is perfect for such.
I had seriously thought about adding more detail, but like I have said in past posts, this build is only for pointing out the problems and offering my solutions for those problems.

I would love to see someone take this model and really detail it out with proper texture and all the greebles that they can fit on it. (ANY TAKERS???)

Not too shabby. I wonder about skinning it, shouldn't be too hard
Skinning it would not be hard at all.
This model is perfect for someone who loves to add detail.
If I were not doing this as an evaluation thread, I would have detailed this model to the Nth degree. I could easily go greeble wild on this model.

You think just printing this on OD green paper or Brown paper would work, or do you think multi colors would be needed?

IMO, I think that most any kind of coloured (even camouflage/multi-coloured) paper would work (so long as you can see the texture lines, so you can add the detail that you want).

Good luck with it. I look forward to seeing what you come up with on this model.

Wing mount/air intake

I have started on the wing mount/air intake component.
I decided to take a little creative licencing with this component to make it look a little more "realistic". Here is part of the instructions and the parts sheet to illustrate what I am talking about.

WING MOUNT AIR INTAKE.jpg
The section in the red box is what I am talking about.
Unfortunately, there is only a top and side view to the instructions.

IMAG0170.jpg

IMAG0171.jpg
I added glue tabs to parts 57 (see photo above). If you notice that there is only one non-striped part 58*
Parts 58* are suppose to be placed far into parts 57 and 59 and really would not be seen very well. So I will be changing the positions of parts 58*.

IMAG0172.jpg
I have hand drawn (and added glue tabs to) parts 58* (with extra parts for internal support, because the original parts do not fit properly and I wanted to make it look a bit more realistic)

IMAG0173.jpg
I have hand made frames that will go on the outside edge of parts 58* (striped panels).

IMAG0174.jpg
Parts 58* finished and ready to be mounted.

Here are more photos of the wing mounts/air intakes.

IMAG0175.jpg
Here I have placed the new part 58* (striped panel with frame( at the front of part 57 (as well as the interior support and the non-striped panel where I feel they need to go.)

IMAG0176.jpg
I added glue strips to parts 59.

IMAG0177.jpg
I attached part 59 to the rest of the assembly.
As you can see there is a slight over hang at the bottom edge. I found that i did not need the bottom glue strip, and removed it.
Leave the lower over hang from part 59. It will attach to the main body with out any problems.
