By all means, you may do it. :thumb: Just give proper credit and send me the address where the files can be found, please. You find my e-mail address in the Col1 plans.I must say I'm amazed at how a simple upload/download has been made so cumbersome. I'm sure there was some reason the file got split into chunks, but I thought the moderators were not faced with file size limits, and I can't think of any other reason to do this.
Revel-Fan, can I download the files and put a single zip on my website or 4shared account for easy access?
Steve
I'm really sorry for the trouble you all had with Colonial One. To make sure that this doesn't happen again I have decided to upload the parts and instructions right here in the threads. Here you are and enjoy!
Ya know, I didn't know you could attach such large files right to the thread post like that. I always thought there was a size limit there too.
Learned my something new for today, and it's still morning sign1

Hello there and a happy new year to everyone! balloon6
I hope all of you are healthy and in good shape to make the BSG fleet larger.
Since I couldn't find a suitable display base for the fighter planes that are in the works I decided to make one myself: the hangar bay from the new Battlestar Galactica. The picture show how it looks after 45 minutes in SketchUp (including a coffee break). If everything proceeds as planned the components will be modular which means you may extend it to your needs and they will be detachable for easy storage and transportation. Of course you may put some LEDs in there, too. Second in the row is a build requested by our friend Rhaven Blaack, the Cylon Resurrection Ship. It is truely a very easy model, there are about three different components. Once I got the shapes right, I will begin creating the texture. And the last BSG ship pack vessel is en route: Cloud 9.
So you see it will be an exciting new year 2012. I hope to get some time to finish some of my early projects, too, mainly the Colonial Warrior Blaster and the Landram (I revised the shape once more; now I am quite happy with it and can continue with the turret).
CU!

Thanks for the tip; I'm not sure if I can do that because of the shape of the faces. But I'll give it a try! I think I'll get the first draft of the bay ready by tomorrow (CG only with preliminary texture). I'm looking forward to your comments. CU! RFHi RF. Glad to see you working on Cloud 9. It's still on my to-do-list but since you're tackling it I can take it off. If you can, try and unfold the dome along the darker panel lines. That would make edge coloring easier and hide the join lines more effectively.
I'm also thrilled to see your hangar bay concept. Now if I only had more time to build.....
