I have only two questions about this. First, is this being modelled after the Yamato from the live-action movie? Second. will this model also be released in PDF format? From what I've been hearing on this thread, this looks to be massive. I'm so looking forward to this.

Although both versions are similiar, I really hope its after the series

I've reworked most of the internal structure last week and started to arrange the parts with Pepakura. Next week I plan to start a test build to see, how the hull-parts will fit. And if this comes out the right way, I will release the blank hull for public testing. So stay tuned.

I started the thread about a Yamato papermodel I saw, I WISH I had the the talent that these other guys have at design, thankfully those with talent have taken this thread where I can't go.... maybe one day though I will learn enough that I can and WILL be designing models for you guys to enjoy.
Thanks for all you guys out there that make this hobby what it is!!

There we have the dilemma...

Today I finaly got the Blu-Ray from the live action movie "Space Battleship Yamato" and the bonus material revealed the measurements they actually used for the Yamato, what makes the length 534 meters (about 1752 feet).

The Bandai kit of the Yamato (movie version), which they say has a scale of 1/500, measures 53 cm (20.86 inch) what would be 265 meters (869 feet) in real life. But to be honest, the kit doesn't look much alike the yamato from the movie.

So my problem is, what size I should use for the actual papercraft I make? I want to make it compareable with Jan Rükrs Sulaco, so I set the scale to 1/430.
