Anthony344 Picture Test Build Normandy SR2

I had a crack at test build my own normandy sr2 it turn out ok for the first prototype but it may not be good to post as a kit.

I have not complete the other side engine just run out of glue but i'll get it done. The fuselage i split each sections & made inform ribs for structure.
I have made the back fin stick outwards, it make it look so much cooler from behind.

I'll try to keep up to date as much as i can, i'm studying & working.

Cheers.

That model is huge!! You planning on going somewhere!!?!

Hey Zathros

The total length of the Normandy SR2 is roughly about 36" & width is roughly about 14".
I am planing a much more better & cleaner design of the normandy sr2 but you would be better off with steve design than mine.

I am redesigning the mid sections alot different than the one that you see in the pic , i did not like the open joint as much so i'm changing it.

Cheers

Nice job Anthony. Of course I feel slow and inadequate now since I'm still working on mine. Your version is much bigger than the version I'm doing at 24". I also didn't think the open joints in the middle were worth keeping so I smoothed those over in my design as well. Great minds think alike...

Look forward to seeing your next build.

Thanks steve , i have found a texture of a engine glow if you would be interested in there is two engine glow that i got just pm me i can send it to you.I have also downloaded from a site of the Alliance Normandy SR2 version with texture but i edit it with extra texture it looks alot better than the first texture.I'm going to build the Alliance Normandy SR2 version aswell after i finish the Cerberus Normandy SR2.

New Designed Normandy SR2

I have made progress on the new Normandy SR2 that i'm building, in the first Below pic that you see is my first prototype Normandy front nose assembly, notice i have split up two of the section & now i have change it to one peace nose with internal ribs. The second below pic is the new front nose assembly & now less joint line witch i'm happy the way it looks.

I squeeze a bit of build time & done some progress on the nose, note: i'm only using straight A4 paper for the skin. I want to see how effective when the skin is apply to the inform ribs & see if there is crease lines on the skin & i gotta say it has not effect much on the A4 but i going to do another test build above 140 to 190gsm Card stock paper. I can see using thicker paper less the crease lines there is.

Well that's it for now until i get some more glue down at bunnings warehouse.

Bye for now.

I just downloaded your model.:thumb: It is awesome! My son is so crazy over it, I think this will "our" first build. Thanks so much! :inw: My son wants the game, but at 11 years old, I have never played the game. Is it too much for an 11 year old?

Hey Zathros,

I would not worry at the age 11 for your son to play Mass Effect , like me when i was around that age i use to play DOOM 1 , Duke Nukem , ect on my pc & that was pretty scary when those game come out the first time. If you buy the game have a try out for your self and see if it up to your standard if it's ok for your son to play it.

No first person shooters for my kid. I would just rather have him shoot a real rifle, at a target, under very controlled circumstances. I am getting ready to buy him a "Red Ryder B.B. gun, 650 f.p.s.!!

Don't do it Zathros... he will shoot out an eye. just watch the movie "A Christmas Story"

Well i totally agreed with JHSurf, but if i had a son & he is 11 years of age & begging me to buy Dead Space i would say NOOO for a action game but for a first person shooter it not as bad with violence, My mate has a 10 year old son & he is playing mass effect 1 , 2 , & can't wait for the third to come out & he has no drama with the game , i ask him what's the best thing you like in mass effect & he told me the Galaxy Explore around the planet.

Any way it's up to your decision what's best for your kids to play or watch , But then if you say no for mass effect , then i'll say No aswell.
Every parent has different opinion what's best for there kid & what not.

Zathros, I would be more concerned with the game holding his attention. As fantastic as ME is, it takes a couple of hours before it really gets moving.

I appreciate this advice, and F131, you may just have sold me on it. My son reads at a Sophmore High School Level, and does Math at that level. He has been identified by the Education system, which is in the top 700 in the country, as being "Specially Gifted", and they will have him in accelerated classes from 6th grade till he graduates high school. He was doing 4 place decimal division 2 years ago, and could trig out a triangle a year ago. Unfortunately, the schools are too far behind so I will have to brush him up on it some more. If it isn't deep, he doesn't want to know about it. I just got him a Daisy Powerline All Black BB Rifle (gun?) and he loves it. I have been going through the "rules and regs" with it and he really caught on quick. He is consistent in his shooting, and this has pulled him away from the computer. Nothing like a gas powered minibike, and a BB gun to do that!! Any more games will come in the dead of Winter, when it's too cold to do anything else, of course, I may be getting him a cutting board and start him in on some "real" paper modeling. I plan to have him well versed in Rhino3D within a year, as long as it doesn't cut into our Violin time too much.

That kool Zathros  , I remember when i was Ten years old my dad got me into R/C gas planes , he teach me every basic Knowledge about R/C planes. Now i'm 22 i joined a club to fly my R/C planes & i am crazzzy over it:mrgreen: but yeah like me i am not into games as very much they kind of bore me out ,so i like to get out into the real world & do stuff that i enjoy then get stuck on my computer or console all the time.

You Aussies sure have the space though!! Fall is coming fast here, so it's minibikes, some motorcycle rides (1983 GSX 750SE, purchased new by me, yup, that old), then hunkering down for the cold!
