Not certain where to post this but.
Alice papermodel stores is selling pirated what are free down load models elsewhere.
Was just advised over on paperhobby that his free download TSR 2 British fighter is being sold at the subject site. He acknowledged they are very good with PhotoShop as they removed his Watermark from the parts. Checked it out and yup it is the freemodel .Back tracked the URL and it is of course ,the fast becoming infamous, Ali Baba site behind it and Ali Babba is, what a surprise, a China based site. They are certainly diverse! You can send them money ( and not recieve) many classes of goods. Everything from clay roofing tiles to Palm trees and other plants to paper models.
Just thought I'd let folks know.
Cheers
Will

Thanks Will for the heads up on this.

It's sad that people try and do something like rip off other people's work only for thier own gain. I imagine that it is sites like the one mentioned that discourages talented designers from releaseing and share thier creations wiht the rest of us.

Goes to show that it really does well to be attentive to all that is found here on the internet and to keep an eye out to help each other and keep the hobby going.

All the best,
Willis

Unfortunately, when it comes to these kind of thing, it is the rest of the world. The Chinese People are fine people, but the atmosphere that allows this kind of theft isn't. Seems obvious here.

Hi!

Be VERY VERY carefull buying anything from continental China, as they may try to force you to pay some kind of 'border tax'!!!
I was a victim of such rip off. I havent paid that 'tax' and 'my goods were taken over by chinese customs'!!!
NOTHING I received!!!:curse:

Sorry, but Hong Kong and Taiwan seem to be more secure, as they have got a consument courts.

Some pertinent facts. I was in contact with Canon Corporation about the Canon Models this creep was selling. I spoke with "Joy" from Canon many times. Bottom line, Canon Corporation could do nothing about it. They did not like it, but they could do nothing about it. It would be a pity if Canon started selling their models in response.

Hi All, China is not a signatory to the world copyright laws. So according to China law, they can copy and sell anything they want. Only solution is to do everything to can to make sure you do NOT buy Chinese goods (means giving up on most of Walmart, but so what). The big problem is that our US companies love the cheap Chinese labor, so it is getting harder every day to find non-Chinese products. *****************************************************.

"howtogurus", I left most of your statement intact. Problem is, and with threads like this, if you are not careful how you word things, they end up sounding (reading) racist. I can understand your sentiment, but be very careful about general statements, that goes for everyone. This is also VERY old news. I don't want someone who is Chinese feeling ostracized ( and they should not have to feel that way), for acts of which they personally have no control over, or any other person for that matter. Any general statement about any group of people will be deleted. Focus the statement on the individual, or business, in this case it's Alibaba by the way, not on whole races or nationalities. Let's also keep the "legal" opinions in perspective, they are just that, opinions, even if given out by lawyers, still just opinions. Thank You for understanding. This forum is very accepting. Let's not let "words" get in the way. :)

Having reviewed Zathros' edit, I agree- everyone be double careful on hot button issues like this-

Just remember, EMOTION/MOTIVATIONS/SARCASM ARE OFTEN LOST OR DO NOT COME THROUGH VIA TEXT.

I can't tell you the number of times a snarky comment I made in jest on a forum or facebook has come back to bite me in the arse. I knew I was being obvious, but it flew right over the other person's head.

That all said, thanks to MT Hopper for giving us a heads up.
