i just go my self a 4 storage shelf for my models & got my high power amps on the bottom shelf , i only pay under $20 bucks for it from Office Works & i'm very happy with the quality & very strong it can hold up to 50kg per shelf.

Here's my normandy next to my ford mustang.

Great job!

Unfortunately no. Real life has been interfering lately and I haven't had the required combination of time and energy for model work the past couple weeks.

Things seem to be winding down a bit though and I anticipate getting back at it this week. Too bad we have to sleep...

Steve

I feel for you aswell, even when i work 6 days a week & only have one day to enjoy my self but at least we have friends to cheer us up once & awhile :thumb:.

I'm not worry how long it takes for the normandy SR2 i'll be right here all the way, Steve your da man keep up the excellent work :thumb: .

I give my 24" normandy sr1 a break for awhile i will get back to it later.

Very nice models! I am waiting for the SR-2 to be done...I see that Steve is doing a great job on it.

I would hope that the SR-2 will have more details on the texture, like big panels, which are missing from the SR-1 model. The texture from it looks a little bit flat.

SR2 Update

Hey gang, I finally got some build time in over the past week.

A little side note first - Anthony, I don't know who Mordin Solus is, but I assume its related to ME or ME2. Regardless, I'd like to get this thread focused back on the SR2 development and build. Perhaps you could start another thread of your build and link to it here.

As for progress, I built up the next section, and had similar fit issues as in the first few sections. I'm somewhat puzzled as to the source of the problems, but think I have it narrowed down. This led me to go back and redesign the formers to be more heavy duty. All formers are now designed to be laminated to 1mm card/cardboard. As soon as I have updated sheets printed I'll test build again. I think at that stage I will post what I have for anyone that's willing to test build and provide feedback.

Meanwhile, here are some pictures. The first shows the original formers and the second shows the hull pieces. The third shows how I put joining strips on the back to replace flaps. The next three show the assembly progressing.

I'm only allowed six pictures, so, more in a minute.

Steve

SR2 progress 2

The next couple pictures show an example of the skins that will be layered on top. A single layer of card doesn't show up well. It may need to be at least two layers to give it visual appeal, but with one layer you can still feel the detail

I've not yet glued the sections together. I will put on the rest of the skins and post pics when I do. I'm planning on test building and adjusting as I go, so by the time I'm done I'll have two complete models. One for me, and one to sell or give away.

Progress has been slow since life has been getting in the way of hobby time, but there is progress.

Cheers,

Steve

SJS, slow work is still work and that is some great work there! I'm drooling in anticipation of this one (I've always liked the design of the SR-2 better than the SR-1).

Any time mate that i can help.:thumb:

I just finished the body & now on the arms & head , so hopefully it will be finish looking like Mordin Solus.

Here's the progress that i'm up to:

Anthony, please make your own thread to display your work and don't hijack other people's build threads.

Hijacking is rather strong for a thread that is all over the place and started by someone who (I believe) has not posted it in it since the original post.

If you (as in "you" in general ) introduce a new model. start a new thread for your work of art. It makes it easier for others to follow. this thread is wonderful as it has motivated so many people to come together and motivate and inspire. It would be good if everyone who contributed to this thread, went back and reviewed their contribution, and then, accordingly so, started build threads. Separate threads on building experiences of the same model are excellent as they give insight into what each person discovers about the model, and the building process. It will also allow people to express support easier for your own build or design. Everyone in this thread has done an excellent job. This kind of excitement and mutual support is quite right. aussie

SJSQUIRREL, ANTHONY344, THUNDERCHILD, would you guys break off and start individual build threads, you could use similar titles, i.e. "MASS EFFECT_____(fill in blank here) would tie them together, if you so wished. It would be really cool if you transplanted your build pics to your so justly warranted individual threads. :yep: This thread could remain as a reference, but it is really all over the place.balloon6

Your contributions are so excellent, :thumb: It really would be easier for people searching to find the information to your work and to reference it. You'd be surprised how many people do that. it also makes support for each other a little more direct.:inw:

To F131, after seeing that picture of all your models, on that shelf, I am tempted to ask you where you live, and when are you NOT home!! That has to be one of the top "I want them all" pictures I have seen in quite a while!

So, upon reading this. let's get cooking!! This thread has given birth to many more threads!! Please keep it comin', this is what it's all about!!

Don't be so hard on yourself. We're only talking about paper models. The other intangibles, friendship, sharing, learning, well, you're "right on the money" there. The structure just let's everyone read and follow better. That's just the mechanical stuff we try and keep in order, kind of like dusting the room while the artists are painting.

Yeah, don't worry about it. It was a friendly warning, nothing more, and everybody does it a few times. We don't encourage it, because it dilutes the thread and makes it harder for followers to keep up, but it's not a biggie. :thumb:

NO! Don't feel guilty at all!! This thread is just chock full of info. No one did anything wrong!! This will just give growing room and continuity. Just housekeeping, "Lift your feet while we vacuum".

"MASS EFFECT" is so popular, I am sure that it will flourish. Just keep posting, some have started new threads already, hope the others will when they sign back in. Everything is Groovy, Right on, Copacetic. Anthony 344 didn't do anything wrong either, it was not managed properly from the get go, so don't worry about it, Please!
