Warhammer 40k: Imperial Retribution Class Battleship

This forum seems to be exploding with Warhammer 40k models and fans alike. I have seen the fantastic models designed and built by the good people here, and yet I have just gotten into the game when I was on vacation. One of the spinoffs I discovered was battlefleet gothic, which is sadly barely produced nowadays. I hope that there are people on this forum who will enjoy my latest project: the Retribution Class Battlecruiser of the Imperial Navy. I have attached here what parts I have designed so far.

P.S.--Maybe someone can also tell me the rules of the game, as I first got in it for the modeling aspect, and my army is begging to be put into battle sign1

Thanks for the link, F, it proved invaluable when I was making the textures for the ship (and boy wasn't that a pain in the a$$!)

I have attached a rendering of the ship that I made using the parts I have. In my opinion, it looks a bit toy-like

Also, as a sidenote, what I have here is based on photos I found on google under the search term: "Retribution Class Battleship" I do not own any battlefleet gothic model kits, so I apologise in advance for the inaccuracy of the model.

No matter now many renderings you...render... they will never, EVER substitute for a paper-and-glue beta build (I assembled mine in tape to save time sign1)
The model turned out alright, and should be in proper scale for your typical Battlefleet. The last photo shows the ship next to my Venerable dreadnought, just to give you an idea of its size (in case my hands weren't a proper gauge).

By the way, I got the Venerable Dreadnought after volunteering at this Warhammer 40k pavilion. As payment, I got the dreadnought as well as a set of dwarves

Also, sorry for the quality of the images. I haven't the time to find a new digital camera, so I'm just snapping crap with my webcam sign1

Well, the model is complete, and has been submitted to the downloads section. And, as a special bonus, I included everything you need to start Battlefleet gothic: A base/bearing compass, 2 dice, 1 special order die, and a measuring stick marked in centimeters.

Cool, this could prove usefull for all those who cannot find the real models but still like to add to their fleet

I'm thinking about designing a Space Marine Battle barge or strike cruiser, but I don't know if my hyperhidrosis will let me handle the small parts :p

Excellent work Rocketman Tan!! I am not having much time to model these days but always wanted to get into the space side of the Space Marines. Good job!
