Ink Refill :(

Ok i don't post about stuff that drives me up a wall ... But i sure other on the forum will have something to say !!

Were are all the ink refill kits ?? i went to 8 different store even the high price Office store :( No body sell them now :( " What the Ink company not make enough money "

This could put a end to my modeling :( i can't spend $30 a whack for colored ink ! You use yellow ink in ever thing you print ...so it go fasts ,

i have a 2 more store to check on Saturday hopeful I'll get lucky !!

If not ! rrrrrrrr I'll need a new hobby :( that won't cost me money !!

"My wife jumping for joy "
Wife -> No more ink for you !! take all that crap and throw it out !! Its over honey :)

I just installed a Continuous Ink System - LOVE IT! :) Even cheaper than refilling your own :)

i had one of those on my old printer,,when i bought the new one i found i could not get a system for it ...

there is a good alternative though for most printers out there, you just have to look arround ....

for my new printer Brother DCP-145C i bought some "large capacity refillable cartridges",you just put them in as with normal cartridges ,they hold about 100ml of ink and once they are in you never need to take them out as they have filler caps to refill em ........

my advise is to keep looking around

My vote is for laser printing to be honest. I'm a very high output user, as far as this hobby goes, sometimes putting through 500 sheets in a week of cardstock. Last year I went through THREE inkjet printers, the last one an Officejet 6500 with a continuous ink system. After that one went, I had it, and went with an HP CP1215 and it has been about the best thing ever. I've put through 800+ pages with it the past 3 weeks alone; mostly full color cardstock builds (I use a robocutter to cut for me) and it's used up around 20% of the toner. Supposedly they only get 1400 pages per toner cartridge, but if the estimator is correct, I'm getting much, much more out of it than that.

Additionally, the quality blows any of the inkjets I had away. It puts a nice laser printer coat on top of the paper that makes it stronger than a regular inkjet print, and there's no drying time at all. It comes out, it's ready. Additionally, the CP1215 is even better than the 13,000$ machine we have at work. I put up a side by side comparison here:

Do yourself a favor and get away from inkjet. It's a waste of time and money, speaking as a person that's been through so many inkjets that I'm trying to figure out a way to make it up to Mother Nature for my transgressions.... lol

Well all of my papercrafts are in black and white.

Cause my mom dosent like spending money on colour ink...

cause my family uses a lot of stuff from the printer. :curse:wall1

While we are on the topic, can anyone recommend a better inkjet? I recently purchased a Kodak, which promised cheaper refills, but the color saturation on cardstock just stinks.

You can get a lot of mileage out of even a crappy inkjet printer with decent paper. I strongly suggest Cougar Opaque 90lb cover stock. Despite it's "weight" it's actually stronger and a much finer grain cardstock than the 110lb Georgia Pacific. Don't get me wrong, i use Georgia Pacific primarily, but the cougar makes a world of difference!
