Bones and wings

Thanks Chris. Vacuum forming tutorials everywhere you look, but just get the jest of it, then wing it.
Here is the glue up of the bones for the wings. I applied the skins to the bones and will form wing tips after this all dries up, getting harder and harder to handle without deforming or breaking things. Gotta end this soon.

Congrats on potw! Looking really good so far. Just one comment on the canopy though. The side frames on the front looks like they're almost strait. They were much more round particularly at the top with the bottom 1/3 being almost strait. The cross section of the aft end of the sliding portion is a half circle that fits tight around the little conical piece when the canopy is closed.
I know in the pictures of my build of #57 it is just like you have it, but I was using acetate for the canopy and couldn't get it to keep its shape without a former in there which I didn't want to do.

Wheels on

Thanks Will I will take another look at that.
Well I got the wheels on and added a brake line detail. I have changed the exhaust pipes on the side of the fuselage. A few more items and a stand and then I will shoot the finish photos..

Nice, nice, nice!

I love the clever use of mixed media. I'm constantly patrolling my house with *that look* (as my wife calls it) on my face. She's started to hide things from me...

The landing gear looks awesome and I like the way you did the exhaust stacks. The painted straws look very convincing.

Props at last

Thanks Will the exhaust needed to be improved. I also patrol for items for mixed media, girlfriend hates it when I go into craft stores.

Well I completed the props and the rear wheel bay doors. I put my own spin on the props.. No pun inteneded.

Hate to be critical when it looks so good otherwise but you have the prop blades backwards. The all silver parts go forward with the black sides facing backwards (that way the pilot doesn't get blinded by the sun flashing off the blades).

And the rear landing gear doors when open are almost parallel with the ground.

Edit,

Just a few pics to show the real deal and how well you have done.

Finished Model

Well Will I turned the props around . Thanks:thumb:
I have built a display base for the model to sit on. It is 16" square plywood with a paper concrete overlay spray mounted on. I has the title of the plane on all 4 sides and the logo from the Cleveland races glued onto black styrofoam and cut out to shape and sanded. Enjoy Pics.
Thanks Will for a great design, Ecardmodels is the place to grab this model.
It makes one nice display model.

Awesome! I beleive that once upon a long time ago I offered a refund to the first someone who built the model and allowed the pics to be used on the sale page. I'll have to talk to Chris about that.

Assuming of course that you will allow that?

It is with great humility that I accept your honor with not one but four trophies Peter.:mrgreen:
I wish to thank you for hanging around with so many posts to view for the end. All kidding aside it was a fun build and I am glad your are finding some room in your life for the Corsar:cool:. I am going to build Wills Military version next so maybe we can get that wing to fold.
