Mike,

I just finished watching #6. What kind of ballast did you use? Is it made especially for Unitrack?

Thanks,
Paul

Thanks Mike, I just ordered some. I'm doing a roundhouse/engine facility on my layout as well. Would you use this ballast or a darker color. (Sorry for all the questions!)

Just received the ballast, thanks! I think I'm going to mix it with some brown for the lead in to the turntable and then black for around the outside of the turntable, on the lead in tracks to the roundhouse, maybe some rust colors as well. Have to experiment a little I guess.

Great video once again! But your train room isn't messy, just storage challenged! I'm still trying to sell off my HO collection so I have 2 collections in my room. I have to move boxes to get to my tools or to get to other parts of the layout. I'll be glad when it's all gone!

Here is the Las Cruces Depot I have been working on. It is a bone stock Walthers kit with a few small details added. It is not exactly our depot but really really close.
I stuccoed it using craft paints and Aluminum Oxide blasting media mixed together and painted over the brick structure.
The real thing !!

Very cool, the stucco is great! What did you use for base? It looks like a big think sheet of bricks. Great job!

Trainiac , The Walther depot is brick ( seems stupid to me ) as I have never seen one of this style in brick and the HO is stucco. I just did it over the existing kit , 2 coats.
Thanks , Mike

Once again great video. I had had to stop work on my layout as we have decided to sell our house. So I will be waiting for more video installments!

I think we all go through the new house thing and have to do with out our layout at some time in our lives.
My lay out has been in storage for 3 years now and I am still looking for a home that matches the layouts size.
We may have found one, just waiting on a call back from the realtor so the wife and I can look and see if it is a fit.
I too feel the pain of not having a layout to work on.

The new house we've been looking out has an outstanding basement for model railroading. Hopefully by Christmas we'll be settled in! (thanks for the sympathy!)
However until then I think I'll just work on structures. I have a 27 stall roundhouse to build via kitbashing. At least I can get all the parts cut and ready to assemble!
