Awesome! Being an original Bostonian where the USS MA was commissioned, I'm quite excited to build this. I love your "Olli-style" models and I think this will be a great intro into ship-building for me.

It does look tiny. Is it the right scale? The original ship is 208m long, so at 1:1220 the model would be 17cm - a pretty decent size, though it is an odd scale.

Nice, I recognized that bridge right away! I'm currently down in Atlanta while my wife attends school. You can bet we'll be back.

Hope you and your family are doing well. Be sure to post up pics when you build the USS Mass. I certainly will. :thumb:

This looks like its going to be quite the intricate model when its done. Should be fun. :thumb:

Any chance at doing a C-130 Hercules at some point?

I have some "official" 1/350 USS Massachusetts drawings. I would be willing to share them. I also have three or four very complete books on the SD Class BB's. I will share everything if you can help me with an Alabama model. I am interested in building a 1/350 paper model but I do not have the time to do it myself. I have also considered the Trumpeter pl@stic kit, but would rather do card. I also have the Halinksi South Dakota kit, but once again, I need an Alabama. There are very few differences between the Mass and Alabama. They were virtually identical.

If you wish to share in any of my reference sources, LMK.

Hi,
I would do that gladly, but my models are not so good for details.
Look here is the USS Iowa scale 1/1200 from me and they have not many details.
In 1/350 you must make many more details.
I hope you can understand what i mean :eek:ops:

Hey Olli, that USS Iowa looks great! Is it available for download? It looks like it'd make great practice for the USS Mass when you finish it.

Hey Olli! How's progress on the USS MA? I see you're hard at work on your Bismark and San Pablo - any time recently for this one? I can wait, but it's fun to watch the progress. :thumb:

And don't forget the C-130. I'm really excited for that one. It shouldn't be too difficult to modify your C-160 if you need a head start. :)

I just realized that the USS Alabama was a South Dakota class battleship. I can't wait. I have fond memories of going aboard the ship while on trips to the beach when I wasd younger. I actually got stay aboard the ship for a night in the officer's bunks back when I was in Boy Scouts in 8th grade. It was fun playing hide and seek on the deck at night and then playing poker in the officer's mess.
