I started a new thread on the Colonial Raptor. I will check on this thread now and then and probably continue when I start the MK-VII, but now on to the Raptor, see you there.

Raptors are outfitted with missile pods. Because they are large/powerful enough to haul them and are anti-ship capable. Vipers are not armed with missiles because they are designed to intercept fighters only.

Vipers have been seen using missiles on many occasions, during season one when they attacked the Cylon asteroid mining facility, and during the attack on New Caprica, just to name two instances.

Don't forget the cylon hub ship, vipers towed by the raiders with nuclear missiles under the wings supplies by the defecting basestar. fairly intense battle scene.

Missiles?????

Other than this occasion, The rare time I seen a Viper fire missiles, my question is "WHERE DID THAT MISSILE COME FROM?"

It has to be a very small missile, because the Viper is a small vessel, Heck some of our missiles are the size of the Viper. Where do they store them? No missile or bomb pods, no tell tale sign of missile bay doors, the series will be over and we will never know.

I agree with many here. That's not entirely accurate. Several episodes show Vipers firing missiles. HAND OF GOD comes to mind.

The tact nukes were supplied by the cylons to the colonials in for the attack on the hub base guarded by the first generation toasters. This is the first major human/cylon collaboration, now the cylons can't come back and the reactivation rescue of the 5's in season 4 confirms this.

How is your raptor coming along? Working on a 3 section hanger bay I think you might be proud of. Pictures will forth coming, maybe later tonite. Your raptor is mega cool Silver. Hi to everyone on this thread!!!!!

So let's see, a MK-II, a MK-VII, and a Blackbird. When you do the tool boxes from Epson, reduced them to 75%, otherwise they will be too big. Experiment with the sizing if need be. You have enough space to place the red zone to the front of the bays as well as into the bays themselves.

Thanks for the tip, I found some tools and thing from the yamaha site as well. Wish I had enough room for the launch tubes. That would make one awesome diarama for display. I plan to add some hoist and engine mounts. How you build the silver containers and do you have a blue you could share? Hope to have those viper build plans done this weekend. Much to and so little time.

With launch tubes, repair bays, Vipers...hell why not a Galactica to go around the entire thing!!!:thumb:

Just out of curiousity how big would the galactica have to be to house one of these Vipers?

re: the bulkheads you created for the engine section. You don't really have any photos detailing the length, how you constructed that, etc. Can you please elaborate on that part of the build. I'm kind stuck there.
Thanks.

Thanks. I don't think I can make a hangar as big as I'm making my Mark II. But I'm doing it larger as a learning exercise before I go to the original size. Maybe then.
