Wow, your build is starting to transcend from mere hobby to art form! She will look gorgeous at the rate you're going, AgO2. :thumb: (that's the right formula, right? I'm a bit rusty with the ions)

There are others out there who are masters of the art, I just trudge along. as for the moniker, it has been a long time since my physics but Ag=(Argent-Silver) and of course the O is Oxide==Silver Oxide.

More on the build

At this stage I borrowed the racing stripe from :rolleyes:Paragon:rolleyes: and simulated the raised surface in front of the cockpit. I glued one side down and when it was stable enough, I glued the other side down.

I started on the landing gears and the landing gear wells.

Near the end

Well it is time to move on to another project. Still thinking seriously about the raptor for my next project, but it will be in a new thread

Decided to try something new with the canopy. I glued the framework on a sheet of clear plastic, then I scored and folded it. I used super glue to adhere it to the plastic.

Overall, it was an enjoyable build. Keep in mind that this is my version of the viper, slightly different that the series Viper.

Now to work on that Raptor, and following that, something from Star Trek followed by something from Warhammer 40K:wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave:

It was my first Viper design and build, with a little help from Jay and Paragon of course. When are you going to start your Thread, I am anxious to see your stuff. From what you put on my thread it looks pretty darn good.

Well I am off to see about my Raptor. I got some feedback on the interior and cockpit. Now I got to work out that Dome in the canopy. to make it clear.

Yeah, it took some Fraking time away from my grandson who says "HEY Grampa, When we gonna play ball again."

Little does he know I got another project going. But I will take time to fast pitch him a few. He hates grounders.......

It is the name of the game, to enjoy. I like Sc-Fi, mostly because I can deviate from the set rule of a .... let's say Armor, if it is not sci -fi then you most make a Tiger, M-60, a Bradley etc. Sci Fi is make believe that it it could be viable.

For example, the Raiders have missiles, I have not seen a Viper Squadron launch missiles. If the enemy is close enough for on board cannons, then they are too close.
By these standards we are more advance. An Excocet missile can sink a ship like the Conveyor, which the Argentinians did from close to a hundred miles away, without visual.

We were shooting Iraqui planes down over Iraq while still flying over Saudi Arabia.

I love Science Fiction.

The funny part is, That they miss. The Cylons are AI. But can't shoot straight. Except in the beginning when they almost annihilated the human race. The Armada is like a gander of geese in a pond and only Daffy Duck has the gun.

Thanks for the compliment, your build up on viper really got me going. Once I complete a couple more projects, I'll start a thread. Can't Frakking wait to see your Raptor posted. I know it will be awesome as with all your work. Jaybats, Paragon, yourself and others are great to learn from.

Raptors are outfitted with missile pods. Because they are large/powerful enough to haul them and are anti-ship capable. Vipers are not armed with missiles because they are designed to intercept fighters only.

Um, if Vipers are not equipped to carry missles, how did Hot Dog almost take out Kat with a missle, during a training accident in season 2 ?

My next Build

My Raptor is coming along nicely. I just got done with the cockpit interior, now I am working on the crew compartment. By the looks of it, it is rather small. How did Sharon and Helo get so many survivors into that thing boggles me. I must have the EW version because it only seats 4 crew members other than the pilot and co-pilot.

The Raptor designation is Fighter Squadron 10. I am using JayBats Raptor but I must apologize to Jay, because I am modifying it greatly. The Engine pods are wrong so I will re-do them There are other Items but the most challenging will be that canopy. The only way to do it right will have to be heat forming it.

Once I am near finish, I will also re-paint it. Soon I will start posting but it will be separate from this forum

In the real world, if the CAG let the enemy planes within 100 miles of their carrier, they are in deep doo doo, and soon will be stepping on the south side mess of a bull going north. But like I said earlier, Sci Fi is great because it lets the mind wander to those yesteryears when dogfighting was glamorous, if you did't get shot down and had to ride the rocket to the ground.:wave::wave::wave:

Vipers carry a few ship-to-ship missiles, however ineffective in maneuverability.

what those missiles lack in maneuverability, they make up in firepower.

hmm i am modeling some missiles for my viper. anybody got a close picture of them?
