Sir James, Weather here is about the same, high today was 32, now 26 with a predicted low of 22.

I watched the Ohio State Game, then the Penn State Mich. State game, then the finish of the BC Wake Forest game. Now watching Fla. State and Maryland, will switch back and forth with the Texas Tech / Oklahoma game when it starts. That should hold me for the day. :thumb:

Jeffrey, That is a pretty fancy pedestrian bridge you've got there.

Howdy guys - just took it easy all day. Ran my son up to the store for a little while, so he could spend some money that was burning a hole in his pocket, but other than that we just hung out all day. New CTT showed up in the mail and so did the switches I won the other day - man, that was fast!

Jeffrey, good work - nice looking model.

Good morning.

It's 52 and cloudy. The high should be around the upper 60's and it will be partly cloudy with a chance of rain.

As some of you are aware I finally finished my pedestrian bridge. Now my little people don't have to walk across the busy tracks to get to the park anymore. Wonder how long it'll be before the local businesses post their advertising on it. At the end of this post is an action photo of the bridge with two trains crossing beneath.

Finishing up our outside Christmas decorations today. A set of Sleigh and reindeer, with SC and toy soldier. All hand made, been in the family since 1960, and this is the fourth set that has been made. Since their done in plywood, they don't like the long term exposure obviously. Will post a couple of pictures. Be REALLY glad to get them done so I can get back to the train room.

Hope everyone has a great day! And Happy Turkey-Day !!!!

. No big deal, just the two of us so one load of each takes care of it. I have her sort, not going to get the blame for wrong stuff washed together. Have a great tomorrow...S.J.

Just the two of us here also. I am for bidden to touch laundry. Seems I always mess it up. She says I mess up intentionally so she will get mad and tell me to stay out. But that is not true. I no longer work so I try to help around the house as much as I can

I spent part of my day going over the inside loop on my layout looking for the bad spot in it. I tested the track at several points in the area that's been giving me a stalling out problem and found nothing. I then pushed down on the track slightly to simulate the weight of two P2K E units and immediately saw a broken solder joint. A little farther on I found another one and it was on the same side of the track, just several sections away. This made for a length of track 3 feet long that was getting power only part of the time. After that it was just a quick soldering job to fix it. The inner loop is functional once again. The test run was made by a pair of E units led by my new Athearn BNSF SD40. After that it was just the SD40 pulling an 11 car train.

Bed time for me. Traveled east and then back and way down south in NC. Tired of driving. Went to Mom's first. Took Thanksgiving meal [turkey and etc.]. Then back and drove to Sandhill area of NC [below Pinehurst] to visit the widow of a friend that passed. Back home now. Up tommorw early and Frankie and I are going to lake house to do some wiring of new bath and put pot lights in kitchen. Good night.

I am working in HO and I am building my own system. There are systems available that work with DCC and there are systems which can be purchased with all the sensors and relays but I am cheap. I always try it my way first and if it works great, if not oh well no harm done. Break down and get off the money.

Good morning.

It's 58 and cloudy. The high should be around 75 and it will be mostly cloudy with a good chance of rain.

Yesterday my Athearn BNSF SD40 made it's first run on the layout at the head of a test train consisting of the SD40 and 2 Proto 2000 E6's. The test was being made to check the viability of some repair work on the track earlier in the day. After the test was completed the E units were removed and the SD40 was coupled to it's own train, a general freight and is being run long hood forward because I think it looks better that way. I also found out why the switcher team took off the way it did the other day. It was because of a bad connection between the two units. The pickups of both units were wired together after each unit was individually programmed. When I get a chance I have to chase down a lighting problem with one of the structures. There's always something to keep me busy.
