Good afternoon, Cool and breezy here. Collected 12 bags of leaves. Still not done, but that was all my back could handle.

Jeffrey, Is there a prototype for that Helium car? I've never seen one before, model or real. It is eye catching.

Got to go feed the wood shop cat.

Cool find Jeffery, what is the freight car behind it in the picture looks like it has Ohio as part of logo???

Got first coat of primer on one half of the layout so far I think I made it too big 10' x 16.5'

When the track work is done will be able to run 11 trains in conventional mode maybe 12 if outer loop has command control.:thumb:

I got several of those from another modeler. They're coal hoppers from his fictional road, the LS&W.

Good afternoon all. Primered half of layout will do other half in the morning then a second coat and after that in a few days I will apply the green paint.:thumb:

Bad trains happen I had a lionel that the side frames on the trucks would vibrate loose after a few laps:rolleyes: Had a k-line GG-1 pre lionel take over had bad soldering on circuit board, no failures from MTH(disclaimer you results may differ from mine as I only have one MTH train )

Brutus where did you find a small Tardis?

I can get a 240mm/10" high Tardis from Maplins here in UK, it costs £24.00/$37.00 retail and comes complete with Dr Who and ANO.sign1

Sorry man, missed that the first time. I got the Tardis in a set with Dalek Sek on ebay from a shop in the UK. Including the shipping and handling to Missouri it cost about US $30, but I thought it was worth it. I also have a Wheatabix truck I bought as a nod to my favorite living author, James P. Blaylock.

John - nice looking set and good work on that switch! I have to admit that I wasn't really sure what you meant when you described the problem, but a picture is worth 1000 words!

Jeffrey - neat car!

Sir James, sounds like a nice loco to me.

Cool I will have to keep an eye out for one, Brutus:thumb:

Had a busy interesting day started with a visit to Doc. No problem there talked trains. Took Mom to a senior health fair at the franklin Park conservatory was prepared for maximum boredom the first thing we seen was a small G gauge train setup in the lobby got offered a non-paying volunteer job reading for those who are visually impaired:eek: will have to think about it:confused: then before we left Mom stopped at a vendor booth selling lift chairs and scooters while mom was talking to the sales person I was standing there and the other person working the booth was on the phone and had this bobble head like motion going on and I thought hey that kinda sounds and acts like someone I used to work with when he hung up the phone he looked at me kinda funny and asked if I was Bruce I said yeah and it hit me that was some one I used to work with at Xerox that is like the 4th person I have ran into latley in the oddest placessign1:thumb::wave:

Evening all. Back from dinner and meeting. John F, was the engine arcing and tripping breakers? If so, that is common with MTH switches and newer engines. MTH told me to put a piece of clear tape on the side of the switch points as wheels were arcing across outer rail and center rail. If this was your problem, I like your solution. Popcorn time.

I saw a Blue police call box in OO scale in Hornby's Skaledale range on the weekend. It was agreed that it would be suitable for all railway eras.
I don't know i thy have one in N but I'm certain they don't do O.

This is a "mini diecast" and is about perfect O scale, really. I checked ebay a minute ago and they are for sale in USA now for about $19.95 for the set with the Dalek. Now, the Dalek is too big, but hey - it's a toy, right!

This is my first time at the caboose, I am not sure but it seems that this is a no topic thread just a bunch of shooten the breeze. Which is cool, I will probably check in every once in a while now that I have been here once. For now I must say good night it is my bed time.

Good morning.

It's 47 and clear. Today's high will be around the lower 60's and it will be clear.

Yesterday I finished work on my 4 track pedestrian walkway that will eventually be spanning the tracks at the back of my layout. It's a Model Power copy of a Heljan kit but that didn't keep it from being any more complex. Such a structure would be a fantastic train watching spot and would afford great aerial shots. I also relit the north engine house yesterday. It's now nice and bright in there at night.

Today's Weather for:
Sundown, LA 71446-6114 11/18/2008

Wind Chill: 43°F
Humidity: 72%
Dew Point: 38°F

So Far Today
High: 50°F
Low: 47°F
Rain: 0.00"
Rain Rate: 0.00"/h
Gust: 10mph ENE

Today High: 62 Sunny. Highs in the lower 60s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight Low: 38 Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 30s. East winds 5 to 10 mph.

Good morning folks

It was a cold 32 F as I headed out this bright morning. Our high will be 42 F. The predicated overnight snow showers did not happen so the drive in only had the normal craziness.

Had a long day at work and expect another today. I actually got some overtime which is a rarity for me. I did not get any modeling last night. I sat down with the wife and kids after dinner and watched Ironman on Pay per View.

I am still battling this virus. I wish I could take a deep breath without setting off a coughing spell.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning, it is 38 and light wind here this morning. Weather people were calling for 1" of snow here last night. sign1 How do you get a job like that? where you are wrong 95% of the time and get paid for it. I am going to a funeral today. A Model R.R. friends father. When I get back home I think I will go run some trains or repair some trains. After that I will go run some trains or repair some trains.Whichever I didn't do before.

GOOD EVENING, sunny 32 today, but already in the 20s for overnite. Went to Kroger this morning, turkey and bread for stuffing in the freezer and ready. I am sorry to report that I ran no trains today but I did talk to my train buddy who said the store got some MTH in today but he was not to helpful when I ask what came in. So have a nice evening and enjoy tomorrow....S.J.

Tiring day. The guys were back today to remove more of the chimney. Some thing happend to the foundation and the chimney has been moving away from the house -- looks like a detail part that was stuck on with rubber cement.
Then we started on the Christmas decorations. Dayle began by dropping her ceramic Cracker Barrel store. :eek:ops: After we got most of them out we did the housecleaning.
One cat is confined because of an ALC injury (anterior ligament cruciform?). Vet said it puts hockey players out for the season. She's supposed to stay calm and not jump on it.
Must prepare for the train show this weekend. I'll be passing myself off as a craftsman, cutting out and gluing together bits of cardboard. Have to confirm all the tools and things are there.
