hehehe there finally just about done, been working on them for the past 2 days, wasnt easy, had to kitbash and move some walls that were not so easy to just move lol, had to cut, re-glue, trim.... kinda a pain lol, but it was worth it, i think it came out pretty good, pics will be posted below :thumb:

George Roberts Printing and Heritage Furniture Kitbash complete

okay so i have been working for the past 2 days assembling, kitbashing, and detailing the buildings.

This was not just an easy assembly tho, there was alot of cutting involved and alot of measuring too lol. The truck docks on the Printing Building were originally on the back wall, this would not work as then they would be on the backside and up against the wall, therefor not seen  and i just cant waste truck docks lol  So do to this, i had to do some precition cutting and remove a part of the wall that was originally supposed to be on the front of the building where the truck docks are now. The wall was supposed to have a fire escape going up the front, but i had to cut that section out to allow the other wall with the truck docks to fit.... This left one door from the fire escape on the top story that was not in the wall section that needed to be cut out. I did some modifiying of the fire escape section, cut it down, and glued the railings on and just made it go to the roof for additional roof access....

On the Heritage Furniture Building, i had to cut down the front wall a bit so that it would look right and allow the first row of windows to be seen to give the building more character. So i cut it down and this resulted in a small window instead of the large windows at the end of the Heritage Furniture Building. I also had to make a new wall for a back section of the Heritage Furniture Building as it is a taller struture then the Printing Building.

Next i added ladders from leftovers from my refinery's. I also added the water tank, small roof vents, and ladders that came with the printing building to the printing buildings roof. other details include tanks and piping from a tank detail set from Walthers, a safety cadge ladder running all the way up the side of the building for easy roof access from the ground level rather then going inside the building and going to the top floor of the printing building to use the door lol. i also added a Exuahst vent to the Heritage Furnature Building. A small smokestack/chimeny to the roof of the printing building that came with the kit.

There are 2 spots for rail cars on this building, one in the printing building thats all the way off to the left of the building, and 2 doors on the heritage furniture building all the way off to the right side. The way the building is positioned, and the room that is available to get tracks to both locations on the building just wont work, there it just not enough space left to get another turnout in there to allow both rail doors to be served, so ive decided that only the rail doors off to the right side of the building will be served, these are the doors on the heritage furnirture building. The opening for rail service on the printing building has been pluged with a large cargo door that was optional in the kit. I think it looks okay, however the door does not go all the way down for some odd reason? lol all well, just gives the building a little more character, and ive seen many doors left cracked like that for ventalation purposes..... lol

The building was brightly painted stone grey, with red windows and roof details and safety yellow ladders and platforms

It is unknown at this time what the building will be, ill have to go thru my tons of decals to find some good ones for the building

Here are some pics of the finished building, next comes installing the track for rail service off the turnout

Keep It Moving!
So you've been working on this thing for years, and now you're just going to tear it down?

Are you sure you can't store your modules somewhere else? I think you're going to want a layout you can actually operate instead of being limited only to times where you can set you modules up.

LOL i know i know, but ive only just started this layout a few months ago, and i wasn't to far along with it. Ive already torn down the layout for the most part, stripped it of most of its track and am selling it all to raise money to buy Central Valley turnouts and Tie Strips which will be used on the Free-Mo Modules as Atlas Track is strickly banned lol. It was sad to take the cement plant down and pack the refinery and cement plants away safely in boxes. One day, when i move out and get a place of my own where i can have a room ONLY for trains, they will make a comeback

There is no other places to store the modules either....

But this M&ET module plan has got me VERY exited. It has much more prototype modeling oppertunities.... Better able to super detail builds and scenery, follow the prototype closely and almost foot-by-foot. Am able to build larger buildings, by this i mean skinner and longer. Im stoked to start these mdoules
