I'll do that...just as soon as Congress passes financial reform.

What are we going to do - have a Light Bulb Security Czar?

BTW - what will be used for outside lights?

The CIA said were suppose to be weapons of mass destruction in the bulb, so today W sent in the marines who smashed it. It was found to only be a filament, so Dick called in Halliburton who spent 2+ trillion dollars and 10+ years to fix it so we can turn it off again, at some future date.

Tell them not to forget a dimmer!!!! :) oh yeah --- We'll need a dimmable CFL!!! Yes - they make them :)

only $18.00 US for a 40W light!! Now THAT'S progress!!!!! wall1

If I wanted a truly cheap and effective 'dimmer', I would wire Duct Tape George into the circuit.

Brutus: very nice! :thumb:

Gee, I might have to "borrow" a number of those CFLs at the end of the tunnel, remove the mercury, and make myself a real thermometer...those must be really compact to fit into the headlight of my 1/4" scale mogul.

:excited1:Every one here has missed the real answer to this problem. All we need to do is outsource this task oversees to another hobby forumaussie.

Looks like taxes will be going up because of Government trying to save money.

However, a glance at Project Blue Book revelas that there is no "light at the end of the tunnel", but merely swamp gas casting a reflection of the planet Venus. In fact, there is no tunnel either.

The government theefore reminds you that spreading tales of mysterious lights could be interpreted as an act against the security of the United States, thus leading to your potential imprisonment under articles of the Homeland Security Act and the Patriot Act.

To protect you against yourself, "purely for your own good", you have been placed under long-term surveillance and listed on the "no purchase - no modeling" list in the national security data banks.

Watch your step.:flush1:

A lttle bit off-topic (following up on Mountain Man's response).....I recently built a transistorized throttle for my layout, and bought a bunch of parts at Phone Shack (formerly "Radio")...One time the attendant asked me, in a kinda' pointed manner, what I was planning to use all this stuff on...It struck me as if they've got a directive to make these kinds of questions to folks that are buying stuff that could possibly used in an "unlawful" manner....Or maybe it's just my paranoia....

No, you're not paranoid. Try buying a couple of sacks of ammonia fertilzer and see what the response is.

I can imagine.....Some time after I graduated from college (a loooong time ago...) some crazy used that stuff to blow up the facade of the Math building at school....It was said that it was just a cover for the Rand Corp....
So, what do farmers do...? Do they have to sign some kinda warrant to buy it..?

not exactly. They are known as farmers and have an agricultural permit to use bulk fertilizers, but if you purchase 100 bags of ammonia fertilizer you had better stand ready to prove that those 100 bags all went onto your crops and that none of it went anywhere else.

I once flew back from England with a transistor throttle - open case - in the top of my carry on. Nothing was said about it and I didn't want to make any sort of fuss!
