GOOD EVENING ALL, Spent most of the day at the train store helping while some of the guys are at York. Since neither of the big two are shipping much, a lot of talk was politics but no issues were settled. The perm. layoffs here are getting worse and these people have no chance of finding a decent paying job. what a terrible mess. It just seems so sad. Those of you working tomorrow: be happy....S.J.

Cool at 44 degrees in St. Louis. I was just on dream shopping on a website for some electronic stuff for a future layout, to control trolley logic. Well, I registered and the site says wholesale only. I'm not sure if I will be able to buy from them or not :( OTOH, they have an actual store in my area and I'll bet if I walk in with CASH I could walk out with whatever I wanted...

Morning. Cloudy in Columbia SC. Will probably drive home in the rain per WC. Probably go by retired pilot buddy's house on the way as not far off the beaten track [might be more direct strainght line just not interstate]. Prayers for those losing their jobs. Have a great day.

Good morning.

It's 60 and very cloudy here. The high is expected to be in the mid 70's and it will be mostly cloudy.

Yesterday I worked on relighting some of my structures and did a short tutorial on how to do such with old Christmas lights. This has already been posted on some of the forums I attend. Today I may post it on some others. I'm also learning more about my Digitrax system with each passing day but try as I might I can't find a section on how to program the neighbors dogs to stop barking. Anybody mastered this yet?

Good morning folks

It was a chilly 50 F as I left this morning. High today will be 64 F. A front came through last night and the temperature went from 80 F at 6:30 PM to 55 F by 8 PM. For a while last evening the wind kicked up and the sky got dark like a real nasty thunderstorm was coming. We got a few drops of rain but nothing else.

We had to do some shopping for my daughter’s birthday party last night. My daughter’s volleyball team lost again. They played better but they lack the killer instinct. They had the other team down 24 to 21 and could not put them away and lost 26 to 24. They lost the second game 25-22.

This weekend my son has the first popcorn selling shift at our Saturday location. After he is done we have my daughter’s birthday party. She is doing a shopping party at a local mall. Apparently this is the big party thing with 13 year-old girls. On Sunday my son has no popcorn shifts scheduled although he will be on call to possibly cover for one of our no show specialists. My wife works Sunday also and we have to fit in grocery shopping.

Who knows maybe I will squeeze some train time in.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Just thought I'd drop in while I'm eating my steak and taters and say hello to y'all. Working overnight at Wal-Mart doesn't leave much time for me to be online much now. In the meantime though, Tuesday I applied for a conductor on the NS Piedmont/Raliegh District... Maybe theyll email me, and I might be one of the few who actually pass the interview...
Anyway, until next time, Merry Christmas.

Hilldrum, been going through Henderson a lot lately. Spent a lot at Lowe's there. Bought a house at Ponderosa on Kerr Lake.
Home again gang. Had great trip home. Rode through the country in SC and into NC and visited retired pilot buddy. Actually came back with more gas in tank so must have been closer. Turned in rental and now settling in as raining. May go to lake house tomorrow or Sunday PM. Later.

Hi gang, how is everybody doing? I had a busy day at the train store while the regulars are at York. A K-line order came in today including the A5 switcher and the Empire State Exp. engines. Sold an A5 before I left. Have a good weekend..S.J.

Good morning.

It's 53 and clear. High today should be in the upper 70's and it will be partly cloudy.

Did a little work yesterday with changing out some of the structure lighting. Also did some work on a pedestrian bridge that crosses over the tracks. It's a Model Power copy of a Faller kit and doesn't have the fine detail of the of the more expensive European manufacturer. On the other hand it will give my people a safe way to cross the tracks. It's not handi-cap friendly though. Had a slight interruption yesterday when the power went out. Turned out that a tree behind my parents property fell over on the lines. The power was out about 45 minutes.

Good morning - going to Lowes or Home Depot today to get supplies for the house. Need to get some more work done on the basement this weekend and also I want a new light fixture in the laundry room.

Picked up some house supplies today - kid at the store helped with drywall and when I got down his side on the bottom sheet was cracked through, so he did me no favors :( Oh well, I'll need more anyway.

Also picked up a relay, some connectors and wire at Radioshack for an experiment I have had in mind for a trolley route. The trolley will move through a sort of Y shaped run and the switches will have some logic using the anti-derailing features.

Doing some more work on my coaling station today. I made these embossed imprints of the roof panels in aluminum foil. They've been painted on both sides with rusty metal primer and will be cut up and glued into position on rotted looking rafters so it looks like a wind-torn rusted steel roof.
