Important notice:

Although the light at the end of the tunnel was supposed to have been extinguished, it apears that the individual responsible was downsized and the position outsourced.

If anyone is still around to read this - turn off the light!

Rail Spiking Fool!
:confused:Where is the switch?

Due to an error in the original electrical drawings and recent budget restraints a switch was never installed.

A qualified Electrician must be hired in order to disconnect the wires. Quotations were obtained from several contractors and a change order was issued. However, once again, due to budget restraints this item has been pushed back until the next annual fiscal meeting in '09. At which time it will be decided if necessary funds required are available and the work required can be completed.

I believe Congress has a little too much on its plate just about now...(elections...you know) to worry about a light that's been left on. I suggest one of the moderators put together an undercover "bag" team, and hustle on down to the aforementioned tunnel, and just cut the wires...
They'll never know it happened...:mrgreen:

Yes.......... I think that is doable.. We'll form a committee, appoint someone to borrow and uh acquire the proper equipment, because, of course, we'll need the standard "stealth" vehicle and uniforms...

and then - on top of all else, we'll need a Huge pair of insulated wire cutters! :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

At least one MilSpec GPSr to find the other end of "That" particular Tunnel... Seeing as most of them look alike from the inside "Dark" except for that light.. wouldn't want to extinguish a "good" light... :cry::cry::cry:

Hmmmm This could take Weeks!! Cost Millions of Lives!!! sign1sign1

You guys are forgetting the Environmental Impact Statement that has to be filed first.

And then comes the EIS appeals process :D

The Senate Oversight Committee, and the Senate Intelligence Committee have issued a statement, and said that they need the light left on. If that light is shut off they will never be able to see what is not there.

why doesn't some one just unscrew the bulb. But wear gloves, it will be hot and that way you won't leave fingerprints. And please be careful it could be a train.

Things to do:

~~~ find out why, in fact, the office lights have ceased to work:curse:
~~~ get specs and bid proposals back for the "wire cutting":thumb:

~~~ request permission for a variant for the captioned "endangered species of dust mites" :cry:
~~~ find a person with one glove to stand on a ladder in a tunnel so that 3 or 4 more people can turn the ladder stooges8

- thus, unscrewing that bulb.. train97

Problems identified with proposed Operation Lightbulb:

1. If everyone has left the building and there is no visual target acquisition, how can we tell if the light is really on?

2. What terrorist group has possession and control of the missing light switch?

3. What kind of message will turning off the light send to not only our allies, but to the uncommitted nations and those looking to us to provide freedom and democracy?

4. What is the true purpose of the tunnel? Do we need the light?

5. The best solution, according to my wife, is to simply close the refrigerator door - the light will turn itself off! :mrgreen:
