I have sworn off of buying trains and are concentrating on getting the layout its self up and running:thumb:

Maybe by Christmas the may be a new train under the treesign1
Update on Cousin who hit deer on his motorcycle, physicaly he is on the mend but his brain is still healing as he gets overwhelmed and gets frustrated and crys sometimes.
Doctors let him come home for short visits and seem to think his brain will improve, they have already been supprised that he is doing as good as he has in re-hab, all the prayers from everyone has done wonders for him.

I have to wash my truck as the neighbors said it has to be done.......it does look a little like pigpen going down the roadsign1

Charging at full tilt.
He is A- okay, thanks for asking Chief! :)

Busy breaking him into trains. Friend of mine gave me two Thomas Videos and a pile of those original books. Also when in the car I play him train sounds.

The other day the same friend and I were busy on my layout, my wife brought him in to the garage and he was so interested that he started pushing (we're talking about a 4 month old here) towards the layout.

I plan to get him a Thomas Trainset for Christmas.:thumb:

Will post pics soon

Good morning folks

It is a crisp 55 F as I type. No work today since it is Columbus Day. The kids have school, however.

We had an extremely busy weekend dedicated to Cub Scout Popcorn. We ran four set-ups at three locations from 8 AM to 4 PM, and another one on Sunday. It was worth all the trouble as we sold just under $1500.00. It was our pack’s best weekend ever.

I had hoped to do some train running but on Saturday night the kids decided that they wanted to go to a fair at a local church. That killed the last bit of free time I would have had. Well, there is always the evening this week.

Mikey, sorry I missed you on Saturday at the White Elephant. I did get your card. You should have gotten gas at the Wawa in Clifton Heights. That is where I was stationed until noon and then we moved out to Boscov’s in Granite Run.

Happy belated birthday CSX! Glad to hear your cousin is mending even though it is slow.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning.

It's 67 and clear. The high will be around the mid 80's and it will be partly cloudy. Weather's getting like a broken record lately.

Yesterday I did another installation of a Digitrax DZ125 decoder on an Athearn BB F7 and took many photos as I went along. I then used these in a teaching post. It's a poor man's approach and doesn't make use of pc board or resistors or LED's. It's just a simple no frills installation. If somebody can learn from it and make their venture into DCC that much easier it will have served it's purpose. Right now it's only posted on one forum (not mine).

Jeffrey, looks like the sheriff is in town :)

Talked to a fine gentleman today on the phone - Kurt Polak. Had to quit when his kids needed a nap. Mine were in school, so I goofed off all morning and then did some more yard work.

Good morning.

It's 72 and mostly cloudy. The high is expected to be in the mid 80's and there's a chance for rain, something my joints have been telling me since I got up.

Yesterday I suddenly remembered why I had stopped screwing the top back on my little container of paste flux. For some reason I had screwed the lid down after the last time I used it. Well, yesterday I tried opening it and the lid wouldn't budge! After getting two jar gripper pads from the kitchen drawer and 15 minutes of intense struggle, cursing and hand cramps I finally got it open. And here I thought it was hard to pry my fathers wallet open when I was a teenager. That's child's play compared to this. My hands still ache!

Good morning folks

It was 58 F as I begrudgingly hit the roads this morning. High today will be 80 F.

I cut some branches off the tree in the front yard to keep it away from the house. I also cut off some dead branches. I did, however, get some train running in. I also organized a few things on the layout and did two photo sessions!

Today is crazy. My daughter has her first away volleyball game at Strath Haven Middle School. The trip will not be fun since it will require traveling some congested roads at the beginning of rush hour. She then has her flute lesson. We also have Cub Scout Roundtable. Then we found out last night that my son’s school’s open house is tonight. I love the amount of warning they give us; less than 24 hours.

You mean the Wawa across from The Home depot??? I drove past that wawa at 3:00PM Saturday .. Looks like I missed you all over the place :( :(
Yes that one. We were there from 8 AM to 12:30 PM by the time we got packed up.

I thought you would like the card :) :) That way they didn't have to remember "who" it was that asked for you :) :) Too Funny!!!!

The leader who gave the card had this weird look when she gave the card. I read it and laughed and both my wife and her gave me stranger looks when I tried to explain it. My wife gave me one of those “Oh one of the train nuts" shrugs. My daughter remembered you from when we tried to catch the Pennsy E8’s on the B&O that one morning before church.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Morning all. Off to RTland [Columbia SC]. Tom, hope all your travels are safe and mine too. Ran trains some this AM so I can say I ran them. They were lonesome. Then did some big plywood cutouts for wife. Later from laptop.
