i currently cant join in on the "tunnel" theme...though if i dug deep enough in my pic files i could post the tunnels from the N scale "empire" dad and i built when i moved back here to Wisconsin, about 9yrs ago:winki: . HOWEVER, i ALSO see a Rio Grande " theme developing here:mrgreen: , here are my two EX-Rio Grandes.

ops: , i have redone my trees now, and have since taken quite a few shots with the power line in it:winki: .I do like that black and orange Rio Grande scheme. It helped inspire me to put black and orange together for my Kings Port & Western freight cars (although the orange is predominant) and I considered making the KP&W locos black with orange lettering.
Back to my main road, the Penn Central. Here is a bashed transfer caboose I made from two Tyco cabin cars. The Jade Green on the transfer is a different shade from the caboose in the background, something that was apparently not completely unprototypic based on photos I've seen .

Nope, no sarcasm intended. I just must be oblivious as I've never noticed it before.
Nazgul, I've seen that shot of your layout probably 100 times but somehow it just never gets old. Nice work. Can't wait to see more once you get started on the new one.
Slekjr, That shot reminds me of the time my wife and I visited Frank Lloyd Wrights Falling Water house in Bear Run, PA in the dead of winter. Just a touch of snow scattered around with great big huge icicles all over the place and mannnnnn was it cold! The best part of the day was when I heard the horns of the mainline down in the canyon echo up from below!
Chessie, nice shot. That tunnel portal is quite the dominant structure!

ops: , SO, i have been taking TONS pics from my diarama lately, but thats got old too nowops: , THATS why i didnt know if perhaps a little sarcasim might have been there, MY BAD, and i AM sorry:winki::smilie: .I did find a shot of my SD90/43 & SD40-2 coming out of the mountain on the N scale "empire" dad and i had about 7-9yrs ago:thumb: , the layout was 8'x19' , HUGE for N scale, we had it about 95% complete before we tore it down and we both went back to HO scale.

Tom - Love those Rio Grande's and I really love your yard under the bridge, I like how close the tracks are and how it curves with the terrain!
Deano - Love those shots! That second engine reminds me of how those engines looked to me when I was a kid, with the big speed lettering faded out. Plus those pictures are great, I love how the power pole is just a little out of focus to make it look far away.

Nazgul - That engine scheme made me a fan of the Northern Pacific. We had a couple of NP GP9's running on the club layout for a while. You know how I felt about that layout:inw::inw::inw::inw:

Here is my Rio Grande Picture. If you are wondering most of the Utah Railway GP38-2's are former Southern Pacific GP35's. And Southern Pacific was purchased by, yep you guessed it, the company that owned Rio Grande railroad. Ok, yes I know it is a stretch!

I like that night shot! It reminds me of a part of my recent Amtrak trip when I woke up very early in the morning and found our train stopped with my roomette being right in the middle of a grade crossing. I looked out my window at some cars waiting for The Empire Builder to get moving.
