Evening all,

Spent the day at the Museum. Have three of my MTH PS2 locos on the track charging their batteries. They had not been operated for a while.

Took a few pictures of my under layout storage shelves. They are 12" wide & each shelf is 6" high. They have 4 rows of grooves for rolling stock wheels on each shelf and 4 shelves. The boards came from my father in laws farm many years ago, but I just planned them down for this project. It is a tough location to take pictures but here they are.

It was hard to get good shots as the space is limited here.

Great job on the shelves, John! Nice pics, Jeffrey and John - thanks for sharing! Hope that kid is okay, Tom. No trains today. Mowed the front and side yard(s) tonight and will finish tomorrow. Going to watch an outdoor movie Friday at my friend's house, but not sure what the movie will be. I suggested something light for the kids like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre or maybe The Evil Dead? They are still thinking about it? ;)

The all time worst B rated movie is Dr. Giggles, you have to watch it once just for the fun of it. I hear that killer clowns from outer space is a good classic movie.......also a good excuse to eat some banilla:mrgreen:

good night everyone:wave:

Good morning folks

It was a chilly 57 F as I ventured onto the road this morning. High today will be 68 F with a lot of rain coming. It may rain clear through the weekend.

No modeling last night.

My daughter had her first school volleyball game yesterday. Her school won 25-21 and 25-17. She played on the 1st team which played the first game. She did good in her first ever interscholastic contest. Her serves still need work. She did have a couple of good digs and sets. (I now have to learn a whole new sports vocabulary.) Considering two weeks ago she had never played a game of volleyball I was impressed.

We also had our Cub Scout Recruitment Night. We signed up 5 new scouts. This puts us back at the same number we had last year when our Webelos 2’s crossed over.

Tonight looks like football practice in the rain.

I hope everybody has a good day.

We're minus a neighbor here. My neighbor across the road to the south of me passed on last night. He was in his 90's. He kept going right on up to the end. I saw him working out in the yard Tuesday afternoon.

An early GOOD EVENING to all, I had ideas about the trains today but the sunny 81 degrees just made me want to be outside. In Mich. those days are fast coming to an end. I don't want to do it but I seldom run my MPC Berks anymore so I plan to lube, test, and box them. They run very well, just as good as the 50s engines, the problem is I always run the newer stuff,so these might as well be ready for the next owner. Enjoy your evening...S.J.

Good evening everyone,

Worked out at the gym this morning, relaxed a little until 3 of the granddaughters and their Mom arrived about 3. We made them supper and about 6 another granddaughter was dropped off while her parents went to a meeting. Now have 4 girls, aged almost 2, 5, 7 & 9 in the house. Pop-pop is now in the basement, 5 hours is enough. (edit) Two grandsons just arrived (8:25) aged 13 & 15, now that is a house full.

Thanks for the compliments on the shelves, it took a long time. I planned them back in the spring and did the grooving and cut them to size. Then the humidity moved in and it was to humid to put the Urethane on them outdoors so I waited till fall to finish them.

Tom, it makes me tired just reading about all of your activities. Should be more parents like you around.

CSX - Killer Klowns is okay, but it's no Evil Dead or Dead Alive (early Peter Jackson movie)! Banilla goes good with everything!

Nice locomotive Jeffrey - I like the Rio Grande livery, personally.

Pullman trains to the southwest

I've been working on a train of OO gauge Wrenn/Hornby Dublo Pullman cars. (British Pullmen weren't sleepers but a sort of super First Class.) I started to regauge the wheels out from the 13mm back to back to 14.5mm, then I realized that the flanges were a bit deep. When I measued them they tuned out to be .050". (and we used to complain about .045"). I found that current Hornby wheels have the same axle length and freight wheels are the same diameter (wrong, but they fit) so I replaced a couple of cars worth.
I've got the train running now, as long as it stays in the same order. There are still a few problems, possibly with the Kadee installation, and the Wrenn wheels clatter on the code 75 track.
I brought out one of my early locos -- a Dublo Barnstaple (West Country class Pacific) from ca. 1962. Pulls 7 heavy cars with no problems, but takes a pile of amps and volts. Responds well to the feedback throttle.
I still have 2 more Pullmen to adjust wheels on; someone fitted then with scale wheels that don't like my curves.

Good morning.

It's 66 and clear. The high should be in the mid 80's with plenty of sunshine.

I have to take my mother's car to the dealership in DeRidder this morning to find out why the check engine light won't go off. The local mechanic can't tell why because the cars computer won't let his computer in. My father is gonna follow me there in his car so we'll be coming back together. That's good. I'll have him stop at Wal-Mart so I can get a loaf of bread and some cheese. I cleaned off the layout yesterday and found the other tracks again. Gave it all a good vacuuming to remove the excess WS ground foam that's been spreading around from the areas I've been working on.

Howdy, we had another great day so I did not get to run trains. Went shopping this morning and got the grass trimmed and a little rest on the coach. Read some more of CTT almost done, enjoy tomorrow as for some of us the good days are slipping away....S.J.

Hang in there Ozzy - God bless! Jeffrey, hope the car is fixed, thanks for the pic.

What a day. We have this loading dock out by where the smokers have to stand. So, I go out there on break with Jeff (he smokes) and there are all these big all steel shelving units. Theye are about 3 ft wide and just over 7 ft tall and over a foot deep and very heavy. I told Jeff, hey – I’ll back my truck over here and we can each grab one. About an hour later he calls and tells me he talked with the building guy and we can have all we want! We got 3 in the truck, but they are heavy and it’s a small-ish truck! I’m going to work tomorrow 8 hours and after work I’ll drive them over and drop off at Jeff’s, then he’ll come back to the building with me and we’ll grab a couple more if there are any left by then! What a good deal! These things are very high end and about 14 years old but only had files and stuff on them so not heavily used – gooooood shape, no rust, and clean!
