Don't feel lonesome. Last time for me, our car blew the heater core. $289.00. I was all ready to buy a new loco and some buildings.

It's Murphy at work....what can go wrong...will go wrong. To get around it...just pretend for the longest time you have nothing in mind...Then on Saturday morning grab the checkbook & run out the door. Let NOTHING stop you....

the problem in that thinking steamhead is that the car will blowup on the way to the hobbie shop, get towed back to the house, where you will find that the dog ate half the couch and now has to get it's stomach pumped at the vet , and while you were there the the hot water heater will spring a leak, and some relative will call you because they need bail money just as you realize that it's not even lunch time yet!

Yes, I can relate -- I have to get a dental crown and renew my drivers's licence and license plates. All of this will add up to about $600.

You mean there are people who don't?!

BTW - $300 is a cheap vet bill. Try two grand.

What can I say? That's life. Sorry I can't offer a better explanation. Those dog's can an expensive companion. I estimate that I spent over 2500 bucks on one dog during his lifetime.

Just when i had it scrimped and saved. Gas, electricity and phone all arrived within a day of each other. Total 1200 euro. 5 of the nine cats ended up in the vet, turns out one is suffering from stress. 900 euro. Vet bill to date this year, 6500 euro (approx) and the four dogs are all due a vist for their check up. I recon i could have put a student through vetenary college on what i've spent over the past 7 years.
Hey, it's only money. It's made of paper !!!! Hmm!, i've got a printer and ink. Quick, give me the sissors.

Been there and done that several times over the years until I decided that I can eat my cake and have it to by using the lay away plan or buying use..Worked like a charm during the "family" years..
Thankfully Grand kids doesn't require a steady out pour of cash..That's Mom and Dad's job..I think of it as pay back.sign1

Except in extreme cases I seldom took our pets to the vets since mother nature usually healed them..Dogs and cats usually know how to heal their selves if we humans allow nature to take its course.Ever see a dog or cat eat grass or certain type of weed? That's part of their natural healing process.

Of course its hard to stand idly by while our pets are sick.
