How about some close ups i like that 49 ford....

OK -- I had an E mail wanting to know where the motors came from & to see them close up also. The motors are scratched from mostly plastic. The big dents in the trunk of the Ford came from parts of the dealership roof falling on it, a piece of wood from that is inside the car. The ashes are from a cigarette.
Here are a few close ups.

In another thread I had mentioned using powdered tempra paint mixed with plaster of paris flicked onto a dampened surface with a tooth brush to make splattered mud. Here is how that looks. Tell me what you think of it.

Excellent work, Dave.:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

I've started picking up Matchbox Collectible rigs at yard sales. Their only real flaws are too much chrome on some and they track about a foot wider than they should. At $5 apiece they make a great mid layout vehicle...

NEWS FLASH!

Hot Wheels is started to make HO scale cars!
Saw them at Wally-Mart this afternoon.
Did pick one up....'07 Mustang.........

Put it back down.
Maybe next time when I'm not in a hurry.

AS previously posted, the Hot Wheels, 1/87th scale(HO) '05 Ford Mustang.
About $3.00USD at Wal-Mart.

Even looks as good outside the display case.
Rubber Tires!!!!!.....You've got to be kidding!

No driver though. That will be rectified.

I think die-cast makers have found a niche, or they are reading a lot of model railroad forums!

I know what you mean. They make some nice modern versions of big rigs like Trucklover shows us, but when it comes to everyday cars, and pick-ups, the manufacturers fall short. It would be nice to see some of the usual "Blue Collar" cars, we see everyday, and not the high end "Yuppie", and "Over Six Digit Income" cars sold at the retail market(Wal-Mart), but I guess the manufactures of die-cast have to keep with whats popular for the day. Us model railroaders are a small piece of that pie.

What kid walking through Wal-Mart is going to stop mom and have her buy him a 2002 Fusion, when he can get something thats "cooler".

They are HO,they are by NORSCOT.The rigs as you see them were $19.99 each which to my way of thinking is a fair price for what you are getting :D

I already have another yellow tractor to replace that sexy black one which I have other plans for.:D

Got one more photo of my Matchbox trucks. I'll merge the Coca Cola truck with a custom Coke trailer, or maybe an Athearn one, I'd like a few more of them...

The 2nd photo here is an Ertl Semi, it is 1:87, they did some 1:87 stuff in the 90's.
