Quick question:

Have we gone to weekends only for the photos now?

Right. This is the weekly photofun thread for the week starting 8/29 through 9/5. Any one can start the thread although Jeffrey often gets it rolling. Lets see some more pics!
Guess I'd better take one or two! :)

I've working on converting a Proto 2000 E7-A (standard DC) and an even older Proto 2000 E6-B (pre-DCC) to DCC. These two are going to be running coupled and I had some concerns about the E6-B having a hot frame. However they run together quite well.

A present from the UK, an Athearn SD40-2 dummy in Espee '84 LA Games paint...an especially welcome addition as my sister has just moved to LA. I'll be putting the handrails on this weekend as I'm watching the LSU game :thumb: ---or---boarding up my windows:eek:.

I've been working on spiffing up the KP&W scheme. Here is the old, very plain, blue/white letter scheme on my minicam carrying C Liner.

Here it is in the new repaint with the words Kings Port & Western super-imposed on an outline of the State of NY to help suggest its location.

I'm working on similar paint schemes for non-hood units like SD9s and Geeps. This many times painted dummy (w/o handrails) I use for paint experimentation wears one possibility.

Thanks, Todd. It's one I've wanted for awhile now, I even have the original ad for it from '84 when Athearn put it out. I was in N scale at the time so getting one wasn't an option though now I run both HO and N...er...and HOn30 and...ummmm...G...:eek:ops::mrgreen:

Thanks for that link, Ed.:thumb: If I can find a close enough match for the blue, I'll get a couple plow castings and finish it up right.

Ralph, you wanna a C-Liner paint job? I gotta C-Liner paint job fer ya...

Mooreway -

I looked at your photo and quickly realized I had seen it many times. I couldn't remember the name of the town, but then I read your caption :)

Kurt, that scene is incredible! All the colors are perfect! The loco, the sky, the buildings, the track, the road, the people working, love them all!

Ralph I really like your new paint scheme, looks very nice and makes the locomotive very noticeable.

Shaygetz, that is a great looking locomotive. I had seen the Atlanta one, but I didn't know that the LA Olympics had one. That was my favorite olympic logo until Salt Lake's came out. I now wish someone would put out a Salt Lake Olympics SD70, I asked MicroScale if they would make decals for it, but they said one of the model railroad companies owns the rights to make them.

Great photos everyone!

Ralph, that's a sharp paint scheme (and it's also New york mets colors )
The one thing I would do is wrap the orange over the top of the hood on the hood unit scheme, and the top of the short nose part of the cab units. just my two cents, if you like what you got, go w/ it :thumb:
BTW, great pictures everyone.
