Jeffrey: I burn DVDs as well. I'm about to convert some railfanning tapes to DVD. May I make a suggestion? Put the DVDs in paper sleeves, 50 to a plastic or cardboard box. That saves a huge amount of space. Now take those 50 jewel cases, add a tube or two of glue and some paint, and convert them into scratch-built office blocks.
I have wall mounted storage cases that will hole all those DVD's in their cases easily with plenty of room left over. I have around 700 DVD's floating around here, some are of the RW variety. I use them to make backups of my hard disk.

I have a walk around Crest R/C throttle for the Climax.. I think I gained weight using it LOL

Of course, I guess, if I used it 2 or 3 times a day - it would help... :) :)

I was one of the "founding members" Stayed with it for 7+ years now :) Dec will be 8 :eek:....

Looks like a lot of dvds to me, Jeffrey! I've got a region free dvd player that automatically plays PAL or NTSC. It's just a cheap Philips player. They sell them all over the world, so the chips have a code that can be changed with the remote. You open the disc tray and enter a sequence of numbers followed by the region you want. If you enter region 0, you can watch dvds from anywhere. I have some from England and Hong Kong (love those Kung Fu and hopping vampire movies) and never had a problem. It does that the chroma bug, though, so cartoons and starfleet uniforms (bright objects with hard lines) look a little jaggedy. But, on my tv, it's no big deal.

Family kept me up until about midnight due to the Olympics, then worked from 6 to noon. Picked up some drywall at Home Depot. Mowed the entire yard. Now, I'm taking it easy watching Johnny Socko and the Giant Robot episodes I got on ebay - too cool, I'm having a major flashback!

Here's a thought for all you artists: this is caboose thread #VI, so...
I want to park up some redundant cabeese - 6 so far - each painted with the 'Zealot / Gauge' house colors & logo. They need not be all the same prototype.

The question / competition: what is the 'Zealot / Gauge' color scheme and logo? Should I just leave this query here, or post in a thread of its own?

There is a thread some where here about the gauge numbering system and someone asked the same thing and I think it was Ford Blue the closet to a definitive answer:confused: but hey cabooses (cabeese) are suposed to be red???????sign1 I still have not done my boxcar in the guage scheme yet one of many projects to do.

Good morning America!

At least, I suppose it's morning there.
I never could get used to the whole 'daylight saving'
business. It gets me very confused. I never know in spring
whether to add or subtract a pint of water from my clepsydra.

N Gauger: Thanks for the info. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

That's a lot of 404 errors, but I got there in the end.
I make that TGRX 9403900 for my first TGR caboose. :thumb:
However, it was this close to being URL 404-404-404

Catch you all later.

Morning. Back from Sunday School. Had great rain this AM and still some light rain. Got MTH EOTD at Miss Edna's. Have to replace back trucks as the pickup is made into the truck. Have a good one.

Good afternoon folks

It is 66 F right now. It has been a wet and wild weather day so far. We have had several hours of nasty thunderstorms. At one point we were under a Tornado Warning. It is raining now and I hear an occasional distance rumble of thunder. Early this afternoon the thunder shook the house and set off car alarms. We are currently under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch. There are some ugly looking storms just west of us.

I am not doing much right now. I am waiting for my wife to call. She is at work at the Museum and should be leaving shortly. My daughter and I had to go out and dodge lightening bolts early to go Petsmart to pick up supplies for the critters. When we got home we finished setting up the aquarium. We will let it run for a week and then look at restocking it.

Yesterday we went to a 50th Birthday Party for my boss. It was a fun time. They just got a new pool installed and we all enjoyed some time in the water.

No modeling yet this weekend. I am hoping to do some later this evening. My son is downstairs now dreaming up projects on the layout for me.

I hope everybody has a good evening.

That's a nice locomotive, Jeffrey! Love that KCS. I wish Athearn would make O gauge trains along with their 1/50 JD and Ford stuff. I was going to do drywall today, but instead we went out for a lunch where I had a big salad with tuna = very sensible, CSX :) Then, we went to the hobby store so our daughter could pick out some beads. I nearly bought a $500 Chessie freight set with TMCC, except I didn't have $500 (-D I did pick up a farmer's market set from Woodland Scenics for my daughter's growing farm. Also got the new Lionel and K-Line catalogs. We had to leave, as my daughter got a little sick. She was feeling better soon though, so it might have been sinus pressure? Oh well, we're thinking about dinner now and just checking emails. Hope all had a restful day and lots of good fellowship with friends and family. TTFN

:eek::eek::eek:

I had a thought and just like that it was gonewall1

:eek::eek::eek:

Moved some stuff from moms to my house and separated between keeping and yard sale junk........it is pretty plain to figure out what pile the train and train related stuff goes insign1 will have a sale in the end of the month and what ever is left over will go to the free store(mostly non fitting clothes) old junk out new junk in:cry:

here is my train to do list

1.Finish layout
2.Build hopper kit from RED ball(O or On30 trucks can be added to this kit, last I heard they had an HO version of kit and if there was enough interest maybe an S version)
3.Build REX S gauge flat car kit(all metal)
4.Paint up some Gauge boxcars and convert them to S and On30 gauge cars(they are from a bunch of cheap Battery operated sets I got for almost nothing when a local discount store had a going out of business sale a few years back.)

will post a before and after pic of cars in #4

Brutus here is a funny story about tuna, mom was making some chicken and dumplings and she did not look close enough at the can it was tuna:p they smelled funny but tasted alright sign1

two bad things I have got from the news lately Bernie Mac died and the arch rock out west has fallen:cry:

Seems like all the funny people are dieing off the sad side of comedy:cry:

We just had another thunderstorm pass through. This had to be the sixth one for today. We are now under a Flood Advisory from all the heavy rain today. The sun is coming out now but you can hear the thunder in the distance. Weird day; one minute sunny, the next a major thunderstorm.
