What about a Depot thread

I am a big fan of depots and {UP's} freight car thread got me to thinking what about a depot thread?

Only one rule it has to be a depot that you took a picture of!!!

It dosn't have to be used as a depot today and I think it might be more intresting if it wasn't but any depot and road any condition and any location evin at a museum or anything else is going to fit the thread!!
Lets see what we can come up with :thumb:

That should make for some interesting pictures. I'll see if I have better luck with this thread than I did with my last attempt .

I'll take your "any location" literally, as only one of these is in the U.S. ;)

Buffalo Station:
Buffalo_Station.jpg

Ex-Great Western station, in Grimsby, Ontario - as seen here, moved back from the tracks, it housed a building supply outlet:

It was supplanted by this one, served by CNR:

It later became a restaurant/roadhouse, but was still used as a station, served by VIA and Amtrak, until it burned down:

The older Great Western station, though, is still in use, now as a pottery:

The Dundas CNR station, in the 1970s:

The CNR station at Jordan Station - moved about a block from the tracks, and in use as a private residence (note the semaphore):
(The first picture is mine , but doesn't show too much)

Here's a better view, by Brian Switzer:

The former CPR station at Goderich, Ontario - now owned by the Town and used by the Public Works Dept.:

The former CNR station, also in Goderich. This one is privately owned and was for sale when I photographed it. I was looking to purchase it but zoning regulations expressly prohibited its use as either a residence or as a restaurant. A bit too pricey when I couldn't really use it.

It's in an industrial area, and the tracks, at right, are still in use:

Finally, the former TH&B/CPR/NYC station in Hamilton, Ontario. After passenger service ended in the early '80s, it sat empty for several years, but was refurbished and now serves GO Transit:

That is a neat idea never heard of living in a depot. I wonder what they expected somone to do with Goderich if they had so many restrictions on it like you said not much you can use it for!!
But thanks for the post doc.

Red Wing, MN. I'm not sure that the modern art sculptures on the platform really enhance the look of this classic station but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :)

If anybody has any pictures, or maybe lives in the area and wants to take some, of the UP depot at Nyssa, OR, it's a very cool structure - on the small side (nice size for a model), and streamlined art deco finished in glazed terra cotta tile.
