Hi, atamjeet.

These ships have a lot of fiddly detail, don't they?

You've done a fine job! :thumb::thumb::thumb:

I checked out your other builds.

I like the pulse rifle - it's close to the aliens original prop, and it's huge!
Did you design that yourself?

Ya ships are quite naked. Each part is visible and there are hell a lot of parts poeple put on each ship and thats what makes them facinating.

The pulse rifle you are talking about is a free download from Aliens web site and its a huge model, that one is the only weapon I have built so far.
So far, I have designed just one model myself, that is 'F4F Grumman Wildcat' (ArtWanted.com | Atamjeet Singh Bawa | Paper Made "F4-F Grumman Wildcat")

I just checked out the wildcat. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

That was first year student work? Grrrreat!

Keep at it. You definitely have the skills.

Nice build!

You must have a very steady hand to do the mast - I stuck mine onto backing card as per instructions

Also used a cocktail stick for the gun barrel.

The model has to survive the rigours of a six-year old. Thats why I took photos of it - to remind myself what it used to look like

Both of these ships are absolute jewels.

Atamjeet, I went to the website listed in your post. Do you have an idea of when Akagi and I-400 will be ready?

I am especially interested in WWII Japanese subs.

The only WW2 model I know is from a Japanese film about some baseball playing submariners. I don't know if the link still works for the site, but it has been featured in this forum before.

It's not a complicated model but it is quite big.

If there's no luck with the link I'm sure a kind-heated sole would be able to help you.

I have that model and forwarded it to cgutzmer for upload in the downloads section. Was it you who sent the sub file to me?

Is that your model in the photo?

I should have mentioned this in the previous post. I followed atamjeet's links and wound up at the site that offered the Kongo- for free no less. There was a picture of a 1/350 Akagi and mention of an I-400 class sub in the works. There is also an Osahio (spelling ?) Japanese sub for free.

My preference is for WWII subs, so I put in a query at the site as to the availability of the Akagi and I-400.

It is my model in the photo. I forwarded it onto a GCSMITH last year.

I was having a trawl through my hard drive last night and found a 1-48 scale model of a japanese midget submarine (Ko-Hyoteki).

Model wise it's a level above the other, like most models it's on my to-do list - sorry no photos

Hi Major, thanks for visiting my portfolio. Well I don't have much knowlegde about the U-Boats and ships. Frankly speaking I have never even heard these names (Akagi and I-400)
I have no idea about when these will be ready :)

I like also the DDG173 Kongo , too bad it doesn't have the underwater parts, but is not your fault.
I've visited your portofolio . I like the Pfalz and the locomotive , I also build it , quite nice for such a small model. Just one question and a critique.
Question: Both F-4U Corsair are from DeWayne site , I mean the same kit?
Both are looking good excepting the wheels . You should make the wheels thicker.:wave::wave:

Exactally, I appreciate your suggestion. I wil definitely pay special attention for the wheels and the canopy section. I wonder how can I made 3-d Wheels as I have seen for most of the models on thjis forum, I mean is dat paper only or wood or some other stuff?

For simple wheels just take the side views and add a strip of black paper around them for a simple wheel. Kinda like a very short tube. I'm lucky enough to have a wood lathe so I turn wooden wheels just so I can say I made everything. I also make my own canopies by carving a form, then heating packaging plastic, blister packs, bubble packs etc. and pulling it over the form to make a canopy. That kind of plastic when heated to about 180oF will revert to a flat form. Wear gloves when you do this and use the oven to heat the plastic till it sags then quickly pull the plastic down over your form..

Amazing idea! Thanks alot for this.
Actually some time back I tried this technique using the mobile phone laminating paper and using hot air blower. I made a plaster of parris form as a base for the canopy of my Corsair, but the results were very annoying. Please could you tell me what kinda material you use to make the form. and how do you get the correct shape of the form?

I shuold probly show some photos but don't have any as yet. I carve my forms from bass wood or Lime as its known in the U.K. But you can use any easy to carve wood like balsa. I measure the length and width of the canopy from the model to start. then eyeball the shape to carve the form. The plastic I use is just from packaging bubbles. you need to mount the form so its atleast six inches off the workbench so you can pull the heated plastic down over it. I then glue the paper frames from the kit onto the canopy to finish it. Pics later. BILL
