Hatter, Great looking young guy, he has way more hair than I do!

It's a beautiful morning here. Tomorrow Jean and I are going on a bus/train trip with the Friends of the PA RR Museum to Jim Thorpe, PA.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Good afternoon everyone. Sorry to hear about the boy scouts, but the boy scouts as a whole were lifted up by the efforts of the rest who helped the injured.
Madhatter, that is a beautiful child you have there. God bless you and your family.
Looks like I will be taking on more call for the time being as one individual has found himself in a bit of trouble. Sometimes, you just want to hit some folks upside the head and say "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?". Well, hope it works out for him. Plan to do some layout work and watch some movies tomorrow as bride is bringing the kids to her dad's for the weekend.
HOpe everyone has a blessed Father's Day.

Went to see the farmers market at Southpointe flea market not much there for a grand opening hope next week will draw more farmers with goodswall1 went inside to the tthe consignment area and picked up a K-line PRR BOXCAR and a Lionel PRR caboose for under 30 bucks, only problem was the massive rust on the diecast trucks of the boxcar , for 13.50 each it was worth the time to fix up the box with a pair of extra trucks I had.

For those out there that model or have a foundness of things from the 50's I found a great book at the library called SEMI-TRUCKS of the 1950's By Ron Adams:thumb:

Storms got everyone off line?

Storm dump a lot rain here and has gone away for the most part:mrgreen:

Operated some trains, test ran my new rolling stock and all ran fine even the Boxcar with weaver trucks on them that I swapped out for the corrosion encrusted ones that it came with.:thumb:

Hey CSX - Just got online a little while ago. Storms went through here, but nothing like we have had before. How is the diet, maintaining your weight?

Jeffrey, nice pic; but, I think I liked it better wihtout the fence? OTOH, the fence would be authentic I guess...

Hatter, great pic - big Congrats again, esp for Father's Day!

Evening all. Friday 13th was a good day for me. Hope all had a good one. Watching TCM on TV. Hope it turns cooler and rains soon. We are now still too high. Mid 90's and we are suppose to be mid 80's. Better than last week when it was over 100 for days. Have a good night.

EVENING ALL
A busy day,but still here. Woke up to storms rolling right at us but somehow decided to miss us. Others not so lucky, got slammed again, they just got power back and out again. Some nut on OGR was complaining about Lionel. Seems the engine he bought from the bay had a fan blowing in reverse,so after he screwed it up he called Lionel, and now he's complaining because they could not help him as they have had no electric power. I guess he thinks all those computers can run an battery power all day. not to mention all the streets that were closed because of downed trees and live wires. Then he staRTS a new thread wanting to know if he will get free parts because the fan was wired in reverse. Good Ole Fri the 13th....S.J.

Diet is in phase 2 the transition back to food, I am down to just 4 optifast drinks a day and 2 meals 3oz of lean meat(pork, chicken or unbreaded fish) and half a cup of veggies and half a medium sized banana. Also allowed 1 oz of lowfat cheese:thumb: Still have to drink 64 oz of water and some sugar free jello.

It has cooled off a bit after all the rain:mrgreen:

Still no sign of the railroad inventory software I sent away for maybe in the morning it will be deliveredwall1

Brutus How is the IT job market out that way???? Have been back to work helping out a driver make pickup and deliveries in town till my job gets more work or untill the driver is back up to speed:cool:

Lots of government job positions being phased out here in Columbus:cry:

Good morning.

It's a pleasant 73 here under a clear sky. Too bad it won't stay that way. We're expecting a high in the low 90's and a better than average chance of thunderstorms later.

Maybe I can get some work done on the layout today. I still have to ballast the two tracks along the back side. Fun, fun.

Today's Weather for:
Sundown, LA 71446-6114 6/14/2008

Dew Point: 70°F

So Far Today

Low: 73°F

Gust: 5mph NNE

Today High: 92 Partly sunny. Slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning...then a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 90s. Light and variable winds. Chance of precipitation 40 percent.

Tonight Low: 72 Partly cloudy. A 20 percent chance of thunderstorms in the evening. Lows in the lower 70s. Light and variable winds.

Good Morning. Not much happening on this end. I am home alone and will be checking out some movies that are a bit too much when the kids are around. Going to start my little project with the layout today. Also have some honey dos to tackle, just hope they don't call me in to work.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Father's Day.
God Bless,
dennis

Opelikabear, I used to live in Columbus, GA. Little bit south of there now. Shame about the lack of good train stores in the area. Great to have you on board.

Welcome Opelikabear! Is the emphasis on the O or the pe?

Nice pic, Jeffrey! I like that little retaining wall and drop off, very cool effect!

For Father's day I got a #4 ross switch, caboose throw, bumper, plus two Atlas Industrial Rail ore cars, D&RG and Jamison Coal. Then I got home and found an MTH US Leather Co 19th Century tank car on ebay and sniped it for about $22! Hmmm, the only thing missing from this day is some banilla icecream!

Welcome from the U.K. Opelikabear!:wave:

Down to earth? *This bunch of comedians?

Seriously, they are all great people, and you will soon feel at home. :thumb:

Greetings, all.

A good day here, with some modelling progress at last.
I now have a good collection of railroad bits, U.S. and others.
Now I have to save up for some track, and build a layout.

* google suggestion: 'pot + kettle'

I used to not like the European trains except the german steamers but they kinda grow on you:mrgreen: Between ETS, ACE who all makes them in O scale(not counting MTH) on that side of the world?
