Reminds me how I miss the BN green...

when I was a kid here in AZ, SF and SP is what we saw. When I saw BN or UP on a family road trip it was a sign we had gotten somewhere. I've got fond memories of those trips, standing beside the tracks in some far-away state wondering what colors would be on the locomotive of the next train that passed. And back in those days, there was still the occasional caboose on the train...

Well that just makes one want to see more. Lots more.

I'll go along with that. :thumb:

I'm soaking up all these pictures of layouts so that when I get around to actually building mine, if it's good, it'll be thanks to all of you good people. :thumb:

Alright guys thanks for the positive response! I've got a few more I'll be uploading in the near future. I mostly model northern new england railroads, but I've always had a fond image of the BN. My first HO scale diesel engine was an athearn GP38 in BN colors. It was one of the first I had and one of the last of my childhood engines that still ran. Hopefully I'll be getting it back from a friend who has kept it for the last 10 years while I was in my G-gauge phase.

I decided to add some more pictures today!

First up is my Guilford/NS coal train...(Bow Coal)

attachment.php

The locomotives are Athearn products...GP35 and two GP40s. The hoppers are Bachmann Silver series...and there are about 40 of them.

And...My Amtrak Downeaster commuter train!

The Amtrak Downeaster has a Walther's exclusive Athearn P42, 4 Bachmann silver phase V amfleets, a Phase V cafe, and a Phase IV Walthers Trainline F40ph. The F40ph should really be a NPCU "cabbage" in phase V, but I haven't had a chance to make that upgrade yet!

Enjoy!
Jeff
