Morning. Slept later. :thumb: Got good rain last night so garden is going good. Got some wall repairs to do where I took down over the picture light fixtures. :cry: Big regional transportation meeting later this afternoon.

Morning all - going to the symphony tonight with the bride after work - since it doesn't begin until 8 - that probably means I'll work late. Train went into emergency at 55 mph today on the way in. I hear the brakes go and then everything shudder to a long stop. Engineer talked to conductor on the intercom which we riders can hear too - a close call with someone running in front of the train. Sheesh. Mather stock cars sure are neat-looking. Prayers for those ailing.

Steamhead - I have really learned a lot the past few days regarding collapsed lungs. In Chris' situation it was NOT the result of trauma, but a condition on the exterior wall of the lung. A small area had what was reffered to as a BLEB, which is kinda like a pimple or a cyst. According to Dr, been there since birth. Anyway this Bleb, errupts or opens creating a whole in the lung, again quite small, and the air evacuates and fills in the chest cavity. Chris had a 30% collapse of the lung. This condition is not uncommon among slender people, (I certainly wouldn't have to worry), but Chris is 6'2" and weighs 170. So I guess he is a prime candidate. Fortunatly he doesn't smoke or anything so that helps.

The condition usually will heal itself by the lung forming scar tissue over the area, which is what we are waiting to see if that happens. He still has this tube in which is connected to a check valve to insure all the air is evacuated. Tomorrow he goes for an x-ray to determine if they will do surgery for repair, or if it taking care of itself.

As far as reocurrance, their is a 30% probability it could happen again in 1 to 2 years. So for now we are waiting for Thursdays results.

Chief did you pay to have the pond stocked??? Here in Ohio the last that I heard is if you pay to have a pond or lake stocked you can keep others out but if have the state stock it for free anyone can come along and drop a line and catch your fish

I think I will get my fishing licesen this year have not been in a long time

No baseball diamond. The area is too small for that. Just a barbecue/picnic area, small playground, and some assorted park related items. An old 4-6-2 will be on display.

CSX=question: would it be easier to mount the paper walls before assembly? I really like the way the detail comes to life.

Sir James it would be better to mount them before assembly, the makers of the software suggest using a material called gator board, I would think if you have a printer that would take card stock that would be another way of doing it

Busy schedule for the next couple of days. Taking wife's car to be serviced first thing tomorrow then driving 1 1/2 hours to pick up 5 year old granddaughter for the weekend. Friday we are going to the PA RR Museum, she requested this as she loves to build train cars with the Lego bocks there. Will also make stops at the Cho-Cho Barn and the Toy Train Museum. Of course Nana and her will also get in a lot of shopping over the weekend. We will also run trains here at home. She also loves DCS. :thumb:

CSXect, Have you tried foam board for building the core? I have used it for a few things and it is very easy to work with. What type of paper are you printing on? The buildings look very nice.

I have not had much time to build a core for the buildings yet but gator board/foam board sounds like a simple easy way to do it. By the way the Ymca sign and the Masonic stainglass window were imported images that I googled. The software is very versatile and gets updated fairly often.:thumb:

Jefelectric I use general purpose printer/copier paper and HP all in one ink jet when I get a design done I will have to spray it with an artist spray to lock the colors in so they do not fade like the shed./garage did.

Signs posted on all paths, No Trespassing, Hunting or Fishing. No Fishing signs all around the pond. All paths are cabled off with locks. Now why would you go through all of that and act dumb if caught. BTW: all Rolesville PD Officers, Wildlife Enforecement Officer living in Rolesville and most Deputies have keys. Also small private shooting range behind the dam used by all key holders.

I can not belive I am typing this but someone in Michigan had a good idea they had a resurant and a large pond and the deal was you bought food/bait for the trout and they would cook up the fish you caught......but here is the good part they had made a small artfical stream and pumped water out of pond into the stream that was lined with small rocks and then back to the pond and this got the water moving and increased oxygen exchage As they(trout) do better in water that is moving and cool oxygen rich water

Someday when I can afford it I would like to get a place in the country with room for a big pond and a big outbuilding for the trains:twisted:

Great engine Jeffrey! Looks like a pile-up in the back as you were taking the engine pics...Better investigate. The park is comming along nicely! Maybe an imprompt-to game of baseball squeezed in while they are waiting for the grill to heat up? Maybe some frisbee?
