Nice shots. I always wanted one of those for use on my Christmas layout but never could find an original (pre-war) one in good condition at a price I could afford. Yours looks in awfully good condition...did you have it rebabbed or something?

It is all original. This was a very generous donation made to our museum. :thumb:

Cool stuff everyone! Spankybird, I can feel the speed of that Flying Yankee!

Here's a recently completed abandoned structure across the road from my engine yard. That's an old washed out Texaco sign between the buildings.

Large urban industries dominate the skyline in this view from within the railroad cut carrying the Hudson Highlands trackage in Jacksboro, NY, circa 1941.

Here are a couple of progress pics of the RG&S service facility. This is a Diamond scale kit which includes the sanding towers and the fuel facilities. I've done a lot of work, but am no where near done:mrgreen:

Remember...it's for fun!
I went to the train flea market at the State Fairgrounds Saturday and almost left without purchasing anything until my wife saw this Maintenance of Way car and insisted it would look good on the layout. I liked the crane and it matches another Pennsy MOW car I have that is actually a track cleaner.

We also bought a digital camera Saturday! This is my first pic as I enter the 21st century! :)

I'll second that motion Ralph! Congrats on the new camera. The first shot looks great and they'll only get better as you take more and more pictures.

Some quick background before I put up my shots.

My wife is crazy about knitting. We just got back from a cruise for knitters. She asked me before we left, "What are you going to do, dear?" I said, "don't worry about me! It's a cruise to Alaska! I will think of something."

Then I read an article in RMC about the travel kit for building walls and such while on the road. Hmm... So, I took along some building supplies and made a scratch built fruit stand from RMC. It was a fish stand, but I thought I would change it up a bit.

We had a wee little deck where we shared breakfast most mornings before she left to go gather with the knitting group.

And while I was building, this is what I was looking at....

After I got the 4 sides done, I did a 4 spot glue job just to see what it would look like, and put it on the rails to take a pic. You can't see it, but there is double sided sticky tape holding it onto the rails.

I will carry around my tackle box of goodies from now on. Only issue is if we fly; I will have to get a tougher box. Maybe a Craftsman tool box with a lock. That way I can check it. Those razor blades prolly wouldn't make it thru security as carry-on.
