Morning all. Too busy to post yesterday - pulled out all the brush for the city to pick up next week. What a mess. Beat the rain into work this morn. Prom tonight for the daughter - hope it clears and I can go home early to help in all the prep. Have to prep more for Mom's day too. Safe journeys, Chief!

Morning all!

TomPM - prayers for your FiL. Hope he recovers quickly.

Beautiful day here. Cool front went through last night and it will be 70's today! 80's through the weekend. Only glitch is have to get the yard mowed this weekend.

Man - the repair guys are moving slower than ever. They don't get their final payments until the job is completed, and they have only completed 1 out of 7 projects started over 2 weeks ago?

Chief - traveling? Watch out! Grits may be slung...

Doug - my daughter (junior in HS) did not get invited to the prom this year. Probably for the best since the prom seems to be when everyone ditches their date/girlfriend and pick up another one? Yes my daughter is guilty of this. Has something to do with 3 week relationships and invites to the prom being 4-5 weeks out.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Remember - a day without Buckeye is a day without a bridge inspected...

:wave:Good Afternoon everyone NS and CSX are both in the Columbus Dispatch today seems as though business is booming for the two railroads as the cost of shipping by truck has been cost prohibitive lately both are planning expansion between the east cost and the midwest area constuction to be completed by 2015:shock:

Chief don't forget to take some pictures and post them when you get back:mrgreen:

Good Afternoon Y'all! My Model Railroader came in the mail today, which is a good thing. While I am O gauge, I have gained a lot of tips from the smaller scale folks. Just waiting for the fun to start. Have only one case today, but it is after a Lonnnnng case by someone else. Hurry up and wait.

CNW man, not sure which type hopper you are looking for the prototype for. Yesterday, in the Albany, GA NS yard, I saw a orange/yellow modern hopper with CNW on it in dark orange. If this is the one, I may be able to snap photos of it as I have seen it several times when passing there. If you can post a photo of the car you have, that would help in looking for the prototype.
Hope everyone has a blessed weekend.

I'm finally playing with trains

Just wanted to show ya'll my practice layout. This is N scale although I will build my permanent layout in HO scale after my daughter moves back out of the house. I am really enjoying running trains as often as I can.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Home from fishing trip - lots of mud as we were between storms. My son caught two big bluegill. One was 7.5 inches and about 8 ounces and the other was 8 inches and about 10 ounces. It was catch and release. A couple kids caught snapping turtles. One kid caught a bass. One kid caught a catfish using goat cheese his grandma got for "free", so glad my taxes helped

Another big wave of storm is coming, I've heard, so might not be on the computer later. Might go to a train store this weekend, we'll see. My wife clearly wants to spend a lot of money on something as she suggested a hobby shop trip

I got word today that one of my cousins died in a car accident yesterday. That's my father's brother's oldest son. Hec was only a year younger than I am and we always got along well together. I'm gonna be off for a little while. I need some time.

EVENING ALL
Nice work Marcie, looks good. We got some rain today but no storm. Did some shopping this morning and reg. gas here is $3.59 to $3.69,ouch and ouch again. I spent some time with the trains but did not get much done, still cannot find enough room for things I want to keep out. I know if I put the engines in their boxes that is where they will stay. I'm still thinkin on it. Enjoy your Saturday......S.J.

Prayers for you and your family, Jeffrey.

Nice layout, Marcie -- with O gauge, you can easily do reverse loops you know (hint hint)! And, in the same space as many HO layouts!

Rain and winds etc apparently missed us this afternoon. Prayers too for those in Arkansas and KC and their families too.

Jeffrey - I am so sorry for your loss, prayers for you & your family. Railbox looks great.

Thank you to everyone for your comments & encouragement.

RT & Brutus - I will have a very small bedroom to build in & I have to fit in my workbench & file cabinet too. I don't know how I would fit O scale. I am barely fitting 24" curves & I thought O was twice the size of HO.

MadHatter - This is how my work space looked while I was working.
