Good morning - well, faucet appears to be repaired, no more leaks. Will run trains today, maybe right after lunch. Need to set up basketball hoop for kids, too. Finally, need to decide what to do about window and a couple holes in siding that I think (hope) were caused by some hail. TTYL

I got a Bachmann Spectrum K4 (4-6-2) in the mail yesterday. Since I have no intention of running it I decided to use it's decoder in another loco. I decided to put it into my ALCO whatever-the-heck-it-is with the Kato drive. It now runs very well on DCC. The K4 will be used for the same purpose that I had envisioned for my light pacific before I traded it off. It will be a very nice looking exhibit for the park.

Morning all. Back from Sunday School. Had some early morning showers. Sun out now so I hope it is "building" for some downpours this PM. May stay this way through Tuesday. Might get to run some trains today. Been a couple of weeks I think. Have not felt like it. Might put some plants in the garden too. Chat later.

Hello Everyone. Just came home from the hospital. We went down last night after 9 last night and by 8 a.m this morning she was ready to come out. Took an hour and 14 minutes for her to show up. So she came into this world at 9:14 a.m. She is a healthy baby and cute as can be. As soon as I can I will get a photo and show her to you guys. Thanks for the support through all of this.

Congrats on the Baby! New Dads are easy to spot, they have that exhausted look with a huge smile:thumb:.
Chief, skies look clear here, so I hope you do get some water for the plants. Had considered doing container garden for the veggies, we will see. Have the land, just not the time to work the soil. We may also irrigate a acre or two and plant some fruit trees. These pines are getting hard to deal with. Besides, the deer will like some vittles.
Handsome car you got there Tom.

I tried to post yesterday, but the forum didn't seem to be working too well. It was nice to see everyone doing well. Any word on Barry? Pray for him. Anyway, enjoy the rest of the week.
God Bless,
Dennis

Yes, Don, you are right. It WOULD take Chief 2 hours to say that. Too many big words.

balloon6:woot1:WELCOME KRYSTEN!!!

Don't worry, man -- you'll be surprised how fast this time will go!

Went in the basement today at noon and hooked up TPC and TMCC equipment. Took a little while, because I had to find some wire - as a temporary measure, I just used some 12 gauge house wire. I might use that anyway, since I have plenty, LOL. Well, went to fire the dang thing up and we were totally out of AA batteries! Called wife at grocery store and told her to pick some up. Then I spent the day doing stuff around the house until nearly dinner time, when son and I had to hit Lowes for a new trimmer for him (he's going to earn some extra money by trimming just around the front and sides of the house, so got a recharger/battery trimmer). We went out to eat at Crackerbarrell, and then I finally got a chance to run my trains! The MTH train runs pretty well with the TPC. I can operate the coupler, horn, bell, some sounds, and direction etc. It sure does run nice. Thomas, on the other hand, will only go one direction with the TPC. I put him back on a little circle with just a regular CW80 and he changes direction fine. Back on the TPC controlled track and he only goes forward again. So, it must be something about Thomas - maybe the E-Unit or something? Now, when I put him on the track backwards with the TPC he would only run backwards. Maybe he wants one side to be connected to the other, but I thought that fastrack did that? My bigger loop with the TPC/TMCC setup is fastrack. Smaller loop is O27. Any ideas? I was going to run the HWX next, but the realized it was 8:30 and needed to quit so we could get the kids ready for school and bed.

Jeffrey, I'm thinking of putting TMCC in one of my docksiders - will have to look it over. Got a bid from TAS for my Hogwarts Express. DIY would be about $170 and having them do it would be another $70. Since it was part of a set and therefore really inexpensive, I don't really have a problem with that price - might have them do it for my birthday....

Chess, congrats and the best to all. balloon6

Don, good report on Barry.

Day went completely different from what I had planned. ACE did not have my key blanks to cut some keys. Went to Lowes [should have gone the to begin with] and got keys cut and bird feed. Came home and planted most of garden. Mainly more tomato plants to plant later this week [when they get bigger]. Then came the rains [some had storms]. I went to sleep. Now ready for bed. Hope all sleep tight. Good night.
BTW: ACE lost their lease and are closing. That is good. They never have anything you need anymore. Someone new coming and I bet they are better.

John, great news on Barry. It may be awhile before he is ready to return to the sand box and play, but it is perhaps the best outcome. He will probably have to get a implantable defibrillator put in soon and have some extensive follow up for the time being. He is fortunate that he was so close to help, he could have been alone, or driving, so many less optimal possibilities.

Well, I don't have to head in for a little while. Bride just made me flap jacks, so I will sign off. Y'all have a Blessed Day!

Good morning folks

It was 51 F as I rolled down the driveway this morning. High today is supposed to be 64 F with a chance of sprinkles.

This was a busy weekend. My wife and daughter went to the Daughters of the American Revolution luncheon where my daughter received an award for the essay on the American Revolution she wrote. While they were there I worked on the fish pond. I pulled the water lilies out of the deep end of the pond and set them up in shallow end. I also set-up the filter and got it running.

Next I tried to mow the lawn with the brand new lawn mower. I went five feet and one of the back wheels fell off. There was no nut securing the wheel. So I had to drain the gas and pack it up and off to Sears to exchange it. I brought the exchanged one home and was finally able to finish the lawn.

After that we set-up our gazebo and put most of the furniture in it. I still have the tables and lights to put in there.

On Saturday morning my son had a baseball game and on Sunday we finally finished the grocery shopping.

I set-up a train for a photo session and ran it a few times around the layout. I never got to do the photo session, however.

Today is my son’s birthday so we will have a little family party for him tonight. Saturday is his big party with his friends at the local roller skating rink.

Congratulations Chessie6459!

I hope everybody has a good day.

Morning all. Beautiful day here. Just remembered this is my local toy train buddy's last week of work before her retires as a sheetmetal worker. Have to take him out to celebrate this weekend. Great news about Krysten's safe arrival and Barry's recovery. Funny coincidence, Dennis, my bride also made flapjacks for the first time in eons for breakfast yesterday. Chief, too bad your Ace deteriorated. That's the only place I go here - they have everything, very helpful and they're not so huge. Brutus, futzed around with Thomas any more? I was searching the OGR forum because I recall a thread about Thomas and TMCC, but it's gone.
