Tom, sorry to hear of your children's misfortune. Not sure what to do with the daughters "friends", but with regard to the boy's "friend", I would not say or do anything prior, but when he comes over, you could pull him aside and tell him "We have evidence that a certain individual has removed X,Y,Z games from our home. If that individual were to bring them back tomorrow, nothing will be said. If that individual doesn't bring them back, both the police and the individual's parents will be called". That allows him a out that will let him do the right thing. It also gives the course of action that he knows is coming if he doesn't. Even if you don't get the games back, perhaps it would be another life lesson. Good Luck.

On our end of things, been busy lately. I have a few cases left to go. Hopefully, I will be getting out in a timely manner. My son has a friend who is having a camp out/sleep over. His parents are in our Sunday School, good folks. I am supposed to go with him, but am on call. They live close to the hospital, so I may be able to do it....I hope for my son's sake. Of course, my back may regret it in the morning. So, no trains tonight, but I plan on it tomorrow.

Y'all have a blessed weekend.

Afternoon all. Beeen reclinerizing almost all day. Fever still 101. Missed two great days of sun and 80's. Suppose to turn colder this weekend.
Sad news. Sheriff has to be put to sleep. He has some type of cancer. Frankie is real torn up over it. Was his first pet since he moved away and into his own house. Was their baby. Maybe they will have a real one now.
No appetite. No engery. Chat later.

Chief......Get well soon.
Sorry to hear about Sheriff. I know the empty feeling of losing a family pet. Been a year now.
It's raining here again. Been on and off all day. Still about 62 degrees.

Been the same here warm and sunny then rain and back to sunny next line of storms coming thru should cool us down a bit.

Chief you need some home made chicken soup, some cranberry(or cran/apple or cran/grape)juice and some cooked rice with salantro (sp?) it is a good spice that also acts like an antibiotic. And relax with trains:twisted:

Brutus I have temporaly lost interest in programing, will pick back up on it later(money/job matters are more pressing....oh and building the layout
has taken most of my time:mrgreen:) I just now today got Pirates of Caribbean at worlds end will watch it in a few minutes:wave:

Chuck...I know exactly what would make the Chief get better real quick. All we need to do is say that we are going to make a trip to North Carolina. Needless to say, he would be up on his white horse, waving his sword and yelling, announce1"We must stop the Yankee hoards!!!" :joust1:Works every time.

That is very true, Buckeye.sign1
Then Chief would fall off his horse
I bet he ate too many Grits.:p

Good Evening All
Todays storm just passed through Mich. I don't know where its headed but its nasty. Almost all of it missed us thank you. It reached 72 today but the storm brought cooler weather and the weekend is thumbs down. No trains ran here today, I don't know why they just didn't. TTFN,,S.J.
A thought, maybe the chief drank to much "medicine" and ate instant grits by mistake.

Evening all. If you could see the way I type the words, you would know I am not in a good shape. Got all grades of extra letters. Think I will go back to bed. Thanks for all the good wishes for Frankie. Man, I can't type anymore. Good night.

Prayers for Frankie and family and Chief too.

Nice video, John! Atlas sure has come out with more and more stuff just in about the past year. I see a lot of their stuff for sale now, too. They had a sale on Atlas stuff at a LHS a couple weeks ago, but I couldn't go. They were to have a rep there and everything.

Went out to eat, then to Wally World, and finally home. Too tired for trains. CSX, I understand. I have only had 3 hobbies that I have stuck with over the long haul -- trains, sawdust and movies. Sometimes, I will get into something for a while, like programming, and then get away for it for a while, then go back again?

Tired after that party at Don's house, but I'm going to go grab some icecream with Kurt over at Sir James' House. Hope you and your wife have a wonderful weekend, Doug!

Evening all. Have you seen the new Atlas trolleys ? - they look fantastic compared to their Industrial Rail parents. Sorry about your kid's friends, Tom. I echo Dennis' suggestions. Good party at Don's. Took the bride out to begin her birthday celebratory weekend - to a local watering hole and to Target for a few baubles (actually buying our middle boy's birthday present whose big day is the day after her bday). Thanks for the good wishes, Brutus. Sorry for Frankie on the loss of Sheriff. Good night Mrs. Calabash, whereever you are.

Guess I will try going to bed for the second time, could not go to sleep the first time, to much coffee. Stopped at an uncles house this afternoon and had two cups about 3:00 after having some Starbuck's at Target while wife shopped about 1:30. All regular and that is to much for me in the afternoon. wall1

Good night.

Where's spring? One inch of fresh new snow w/winds out of the north west this morning, not so good for lawn work today. Just spent 15 minutes moving fire wood for this afternoon and evening, we have a big 'ol fireplace in the living room that we rarely use but last night we did beer steamed brats in there and tonight will be something else, lots of fun for a change. Home for all weekend with NO obligations, it's been a real grind here the last 3 weeks and we are ready to do nothing. It starts up for me again on Monday with 6 straight days of commitments but some of those are actually fun. I never ever thought I would be this busy when I retired but at least now the choices are mine :thumb:

Someone, please anyone, send us some spring weather wall1

Had a big mess to clean up this morning ! There were tons of ice cream cartons all over the place. Lots of spoons floating in the pool, and a few shoes that had been chewed up pretty good. Got a call from the local Hooters this morning, wanting to know if they could get the tops back that someone had borrowed. There was a real sense of urgency, seems they had to be at some formal event this evening. Hope it all works out for them.

Going to be a good day, work awhile in train room, wife is having a Bunco party at a friends house this evening, and Chris will be working, so I'm on my own. Unfortunately, I'll be stuck with the taxes, UGH!!

Want to check and see what I need to post a video, reviewed the one I shot at our clubs operations. Wasn't too bad, but definetly could see it was done by an amateur. But the emphasis was watching the trains, not paying attention to what I should have been doing.

Hope everyone has a great day, and the Birthday celebration is a great success.

I survived the night out with my son and about a dozen other kids. Didn't get much sleep between the hard ground and the noisy kids, then, when I was eating breakfast next to another father who is in his 19th year in the Marines, I realize I have nothing to complain about. I was here with my son, thousands are in worse conditions away from family for long stretches.

I am tired, and SWMBO told me that she would take the kids to Chinese lessons today.:thumb: Of course, when I got home, my daughter informed me that I got a package from The Train Station. Wife says "You know Daddy, it is just more trains". Opened to find a first run K-Line gondola when they got into making trains, and also a bridge from Lionel. She didn't say anything else, so I hope it is a good day:eek:.

Chief, I hope you are feeling better. How is Frankie holding up? Took me a few weeks, and then we went and got another dog. Not the same when it is a trained PD dog as it is a long process. I do hope he finds another to share his home with soon.

John, thanks for sharing that video. If Atlas has several cars there, I would be interested in some. I will gladly pay shipping, etc. We don't have any hobby shops around, so I'd end up paying shipping anyway. I could use about 5 cars, but if they have more varieties, I'll take one of each.

I hope everyone has a great time at York. Someday, I hope to make it. It would be a great trip as I have enjoyed the area around it too. Make it a family vacation.

God Bless,
Dennis

Breakfast looks great, Jeff. Always like that KCS, too. Nice work esp around the wheels - looks really weathered. I've got some HO stuff in a box in the basement. I might put in an On30 line eventually, maybe for a mine or something. Does anyone make like On16 or something for mine car sets, maybe using N gauge track? That would be real cool.

APril Showers went GREAT, since they had too many cars and wife let me and son come home early. Watched an old Dudley Moore comedy, a take-off on Sherlock Holmes. Some good juvenile humor and not too racy or anything for the boy.

Making plans for the rest of the day, maybe head to one of the LHS's and see if they have a tpc or something? I have been good a long time and feel the need for some train stuff! ;-)

ps - great party Don! Next time at John's house? Doug, sounds like one of my date nights, we spend the whole time shopping for stuff for the kids or something?

Dennis, sounds like some good buys! Glad wife understands. Check out HKFlix.Com, they do have some kids movies and include subtitles. Many have Mandarin as a choice for soundtrack. Be sure it is R1 or R0 and NTSC or you will have to get a region free Pal/NTSC player (like I've got!) LOL.
