0730BST in a frosty, cloudy and damp Stockport. Currently -2C expected high +11C.
Had a retinopathy Monday, all clear. Next three Wednesdays- Dietitian-Blood samples-Vet. Last lot showed Liver and Kidney damage, possibly side effects of the Diabetes, have cut out all the garbage (chocolate, sugar, sweeties, sticky buns), lost 7 pounds already, 25 to go. I actually feel better for the weight loss. So I say to all my fellow fatties-'get a grip!' You'll save yourselves a lot of grief in later life.

Way to go:thumb: the hardest part is to actualy take the first step, It does not take a big weight loss to make an improvement in health.

I give credit to the nurse, doctor and nutrionist at CONCI(central ohio nutrition center inc.) for all the support and counciling and free classes that come with the program which realy helps alot also the support from the forum members as well:mrgreen: The big challenge is to get back on food and maintain the goal weight:cool:

That sounds like a line right out of a book by Farah Gray, you can do anything you set your mind to but you have to take that first step:thumb:

I hope I made all my mistakes on the first one found that some of boards where warped and twisted, needed to shim a couple of places on legs to keep them as square as possible but all in all not too shaby for being engineered as I went along tools used 1" hole bit??? to countersink bolt head and washer 3/8" bit for shaft of 3/8" x 5" bolt, GMC circular saw, 2 Skill corded drills, a metal yardstick, a cheap square with level on it and a ratchet and socket set.
The wood is all recycled from old walls in basement:mrgreen::thumb: Hope to take what I learned on first attempt to improve on the other three tables:rolleyes:sign1 but it was fun :woot1:

John I have the model builder software that lets you design buildings and print them out. I did a Masonic temple/Shriner building will post sometime this week.:wave::wave:

I also have the Model Builder Software, played around with it a little, but never used it to build anything. Don, at Cool Trains has done some pretty impressive things with it. It has a lot of possibilities.

A big bday1 Tom.

I thought I had psoted on both forums, had not. wall1

BLAME IT ON SHAKE AND BAKE. Woke up this AM with 101 fever.
He sent it secretly over the computer when he was sick. Then like a computer virus, it pops its ugly head out and grabs you. HAd a bad coughing spell last night and had to take several doses of codiene [Tussinuex]. Got up this AM and could not stay awake. Did devotion, read one verse, go to sleep, wake up, read another and so on. Getting dressed, one sock, sleep, another sock, sleep, one shoe, sleep and the other shoe. Did make the 10AM meeting at Town Hall with lots of coffee. Then this afternoon, beads of sweat poured from my head and my right eye turned red and stuck together. Been on couch most of the evening. Sure spoiled my plans.
Will get even. Later

Happy Birthday, Tom (Spankybird)! What a great way to spend your birthday, too! You really set a new Standard sign1 by my Gauge!

John Baker - keep up on that diet and good luck. You sure are in my prayers. My Dad has that from Agent Orange and I've been overweight all my life, so have had the docs check me every year - so far, so good.

CSX - you sure have come a long way. My wife has a co-worker who used that diet and has stayed at a good weight for several years now. Hang in there!

Nice picture again, Jeffrey - that's one of those really nice little dioramas you have on your layout. I like that background picture too.

If that loco goes too high, I'll just try another one - I'm not bidding on it yet. I think Buckeye taught me a lesson, don't bid until the end or you are helping raise the price!!!

Last night was cookies at Doug's house, but sounds like he has plans tonight! Kurt, Sir James, should we head over to Don's house? Sounds like he has some wild party planned to me?! I think Chief must have been there last night, according to Chuck?

Good evening everyone. Sorry I'm so late getting here. Had to go in emergently this morning to handle a case. All fine, but it does tend to set you off for the rest of the day. Was busy with that, then did some work on friend's new house. Moved a washer and dryer as well as did some fixes.
Chief, hope you are feeling better. Keep a watch on yourself and if it persists, go get seen by a doc.
Tom, Happy Birthday! BTW, those are some great pieces you got there at the museum. I am glad that whoever the benefactor was did a good thing and shared such fine pieces with the public.
CSX, you are doing great. Keep up the good work.
Doug M., it was great to talk with you last night. I have a meeting concerning that matter I spoke of. We are getting together with our wives to see if we are going to do this, if it is what God has in store for us.
Well, I hope that everybody has a great Friday eve and weekend ahead.
God Bless,
Dennis

Every thing is all set.....
Can't believe how busy I've been! I have been working on getting stuff set up and coordinated with some of the local establishments, seems people are confused on the difference between shooters and hooters. I was trying to arrange for a pre-medicinal beverages so that the Chief's undoing doesn't spread. Arranged for some pina colada ice cream for those that prefer the lighter side or have some dietery restrictions. Finding Teriyaki flavored pet snacks has taken some effort as well. But I'm sure it will be worth it. Got everything set up with Take-Out bags so know one has to worry about missing a connection for the return trip. Don't want anyone to be late, and have to come up with some unbelievable excuse.

BTW if anyone comes across any TOFU, STAY AWAY FROM IT !!! That's what the Chief got into! He was having a Grits withdrawal attack, and I tried to get him to have some of the styrofoam bisquits I found (even had some pink cherry flavored ones), but he was more insistent on having the TOFU, and that's what did it. (It was imported with some kimshe, by one of my neighbors.) I sent him home with some popcorn so maybe he can start on a gradual popcorn inducement program in order to avoid a radical Grits reaction right away.

Anyway I think we will be ready, everything is in place even the unexpected entertainment (above), so no cameras, and you must be on your best behavior. And I will make sure everything is ready. (Don't worry about being quiet, with the time change it wont matter.)

Be safe! See you All!

GOOD MORNING
Jeff's breakfast looks good, did not eat much yesterday. need food.
We have a cloudy start this morning with storms expected later. So maybe running trains should be part of my morning plans. No exciting news at this time so I'll leave with "enjoy your weekend",,,,S.J.

Morning all. Clearing and warm this morn. It definitely reminded me of mornings in Peru - humid with diesel fumes. Temps supposed to crash tonight though. Hope they're wrong, and that the Chief feels better. The bride's 'birthday celebratory weekend' begins tonight. She's coming up with myriad things she's learned over the years for her blog. I'm impressed. Don't think I'd have as many - mine would run more along the lines of 'don't leave a screwdriver on powered track' - LOL.
Dennis, praying for your discernment.

Good morning folks

It was a nice 55 F as I headed out this morning. Our high today is supposed to be 70 F. Of course since the weekend is coming so is the rain.

Last evening was a great spring evening. I mowed the grass with the old lawnmower and managed to run the tank dry. I literally made the last cut when the motor sputtered out. This saves me from draining the gasoline when we get rid of it. The new lawnmower is still sitting in the box in the garage waiting for a nice weekend for me to open it and assemble it. We also removed the old arbor and placed the new one. The old one was wood and despite painting it had rotted in many places. My wife painted the new metal white and after I secured it in place she placed the climbing rose bush and clematis over it. My son had baseball practice and my daughter had softball travel league practice. Her practice turned into a practice game against the under 14 team. My daughter plays on the under 12 team. My daughter actually hit the ball against a 14 year old pitcher unfortunately it was a hard ground ball right back at the pitcher who threw her out.

I am not sure if I touched on this before but both of my kids got some life lessons this week involving who is really your friend. My daughter was first. Last weekend she went on a sleepover with her Girl Scout troop to a museum. Accompanying her were twin sisters she has known and been friends with since kindergarten and their younger twin sisters (yes two sets of twins 3 years apart in the same family). For the last few years my wife and I have had some issues with these girls’ parents and having been trying to steer my daughter away from them. My wife accompanied my daughter on the sleepover; no parent accompanied the other girls. My daughter borrowed my air mattress. She inflated the mattress and was arranging when these girls spotted it. Before my daughter had gotten it in place, two of them, an older one and younger one began jumping up and down on the mattress. Of course the mattress began to deflate. My daughter quickly discovered that part of the seam had been blown out. Now my daughter knew that she was responsible for the mattress and now had to replace it which upset her. What also upset her is that neither girl who was responsible for the damage apologized nor there has been no offer by the girls or parents to replace the mattress. Needless to say my daughter has not had much to do with them other than being polite.

My son’s lesson came last night. He has a Nintendo DS game. A few weeks back one of the games that were in the game system turned up missing. Thinking that it got knocked out or some how fell out, we torn the room apart that the game had been stored in. We did not find it. He then decided to check in other places that he keeps his games stored. At that point he found two other games missing. Considering he has been very careful with the games and has not lost any in the almost two years he has had the game system we were perplexed. It was odd that in a three week period suddenly three games were lost. Last night he had one of his friends over. Since it was a nice day we called everyone outside and asked them to help pick up some leaves and sticks in the yard. My son’s friend helped for a couple of minutes and then disappeared. We later found out he went home. This boy is the typical video game couch potato. He plays no sports and quit Cub Scouts because it interfered with his video game time. He has also had to attend summer school two years out of four. Also he only seems to show up when my son has a new video or computer game. My wife calls him a fair weather friend. My son went to baseball practice. When we got home since he had done all his homework and had behaved and tried his hardest at practice he was allowed to play his DS. The next thing we knew he was crying. The game that had been in the game system was now missing. It was then that we all realized that shortly before all the other games went missing his friend had been visiting. It did not take him long to put two and two together. Sad when a 9 year old has to steal from another 9 year old.

Sorry to get so long winded but I had to get that off my chest. As you can tell there was no modeling last night.

This weekend we have softball and baseball games. My wife and I are attending Cub Scout Baloo Training on Saturday. Baloo is Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation. We need this so we can take our pack camping. We are hoping that the rain doesn’t come or is done by the time we start.

If I get to the trains I am hoping to figure out what I am working on next. I also could enter the passenger equipment and locos into the computer inventory.

I hope everybody has a good day.
