Josh, it is easier to build the staging yard first, and make sure everything works. Then build the grade up and test it. Finally build the mainline last. The reason is that 12 inches is not much vertical clearance for building in. Build and install the lift out bridge last.

I am Canadian but of all the armed forces around the world. The Marines have to be the ones I admire the most. I just don't, well lol not this time.

Josh if you mounted 1 X 4 lumber to those brackets you have the ability to extend the 15" to i'd say at least 10". To 24"-25"

I have one suggestion. move all of your buildings away from where you are working. I think everyone out here would agree from experience that if you drop something or something falls it will destroy your favorite structure.

The layout will be 18" wide so its a 3" extention lol, i dont want to go much wider then that cuz it would really domminate my room and limit the walking space. Its a good idea and i would love to do that tho

now to remove this section off my old layout:

SL370600.jpg

This will give me room to walk into to reach into the corner of the walls on the shelf layout. Ill still have a 12' x 30" bench to work on after i remove this section
