Since yesterday promise to be a nice day and seeing I been cooped up during the winter months I do what I love to do..RAILFAN!:thumb:
And without any more ado I offer up the following.
While coming down Pole Lane road(I cut across country)and about to turn on Fairground road when I spotted these KCS units and one was in the classic "Southern Belle" scheme..A very good catch indeed.

Upon arriving at the Marion Union Station(CP101) I saw a light engine move of 2 CSX GP38-2 heading back toward the Marion yard.Sorry no picture-just setting the mood.
First up was a CSX freight rounding the Indianapolis connector.

NS was not to be denied their appearance as this Eastbound shows. This unit was hauling 40-50 empty coil cars.

I saw more NS trains then CSX trains..I was on the "dark" side of the tracks and therefore I didn't take pictures.

Then another CSX freight rounds the Indianapolis connector.

A CSX local rattles the diamonds. The yard you see in the distance is the CSX yard(Ex CR/ex E-L/ex Erie)

A Westbound NS freight is about to rattle the diamonds.

Overall it was a great day to be track side.

A great start to railfanning season!
Ralph

Ralph,While it was a very good day overall I am not please with the photos-I deleted several because they failed my review...I fully believe my camera was damage during the flood(from dampness?).Also I made to many Marion rookie mistakes like being on the "dark side" of the NS tracks and not being able to use my tripod because of the chain link fence.Needless to say I have railfan Marion hundreds of times and know the ropes.Ah well blame on the day and my excitement of being trackside after being cooped up over the winter months.sign1
Anyway those pictures are good enough to share the day.

BTW..With a start like that I can only imagine what my other railfan days will be like.
My planned trips after buying a new camera..
1.Bellevue
2.Willard/Greenwhich Areas
3.Shelby/Mansfield(Ashland Ry)
4.Fostoria
5.Sandusky
6.Coshocton area-Ohio Central.
7. I&O operations between Columbus and Logan and will include the Hocking Valley Scenic Ry.

Great pictures! I was trying to decide which was my favorite, but then I decided I liked them all! I would love to go watch trains. Wish there was some track less than two hours away. I would love to hear a train "rattle the diamonds." I didn't know trains sounded like that until Nolatron put a video up that had a train going over one.

Charlie,I no longer have photo shop..The disc was lost in the flood as was my old computer(dampness)..I use Windows photo gallery for touch up and Photo Bucket for resizing.

Thankfully when I buy a new camera it should include a downloading/ photo editing disc.

The photos is to fuzzy for my taste due to the camera. It useto take sharper pictures.

some nice shots there! One of these days I'll have to go out and try to get some pics at the grade crossing right behind my house where a single track CP line runs
