Good Evening.............
It's a wet and soggy evening. Still raining after two days. Suppose to stop tomorrow. Then turn cold.
No train time today. Busy all day. Had a nice phone chat with Chief. He's one busy guy. He has a nice phone in his Limo.
Be back later......

Guys, these LEDs cost more than 10 cents. Like $$. But they are tiny and so on. Will get the company name and etc later. Homemade spaghetti ready. Don Baker is sick in bed. That is per wife. he might have pulled one and got her to work the store while he stayed home and played trains. Later.

Chuck...I am loading up on garbage disposals and heading for NC. We will make fortune on the black market in Roseyville.

Shake and Bake...Sounds like he got all shook up. Don, Get well!!!

Laz...Nice deer!! Where did your brother get it?

Finally home. Was a long day. I may still have to return as we have a few cases that might need attention. I could do without call, but hey, it's part of the deal.

Don B. I hope you get to feeling better real soon. Hope you got something good to read while you are convolescing.

Only a few cases scheduled for tomorrow. If it stays that way, I may be able to catch up on some rest....if the kids permit it.

We have had a good bit of rain and wind today. I have no idea what the weather holds in store for us the next few days. Of course, if I check with the weather folks, they too have no idea, but they get paid to guess. Glad I hit the mark a whole lot more than they do at work:eek:.

Good evening all,

Tom, Congratulations on being published in CTT, great picture. I saw it yesterday, but forgot to mention it until Laz beat me to it.

Don, Hope you get well soon, sounds like you got worse, not better since I talked to you yesterday. Won't call this evening as you didn't sound to good yesterday. BTW, Don's revised letter to the editor is in this issue of CTT as well.

Doug, A lot of the flowers are geraniums. At last count there were 230 of them. Also have snapdragons, impatiens, coleus, begonias, iberis, cosmos, delphinium. Yet to be planted are some zinnias, marigolds and sun flowers. The 5 & 7 year old granddaughters are coming over next week to help plant these as the seeds are nice and big. They only need about 6 weeks before planting out. Also have about a dozen varieties each of peppers and tomatoes. I am sure I forgot some flowers but that is all I can remember at the moment. The greenhouse is only 8' X 14' and it does get FULL!

Laz, I have never sold anything from the greenhouse, everything I don't use, I give away. That's what makes it fun instead of work. :thumb:

Now for the train related item. When I went to lunch today they were firing up old #89 for the noon day run, first weekday runs started Monday, so I had to stop and snap a few pics.

In the last picture she is moving down to couple onto the train, they back up the first leg of the trip and then run around and pull into the station on the return. They have no turning facilities for the engines in Stasburg.

That smoke brought back memories of my grandmothers house in Highspire, PA. She lived right next to the tracks of the Steelton Bethlehem Steel plant. I used to spend all my time at her house along those tracks watching the steam switchers work.

Kurt: are these the telephone type plugs? I think $10 is probably worth it. They're really easy to use -- at work I bought a 50' cable and chopped it as necessary. You just have to check that you orient the connectors the proper way round for your application. Sometimes you need both clips on the same side, sometimes on the opposite side.

John, thanks so much for sharing those pictures, just terrific!

Trying to stay off my feet more today after I was bad yesterday at work - but, had to get the job done for when the trainees come back. Off for 2 days, then working on Saturday (?) and off on Easter. That is Mrs. Brutus' birthday too!

Prayers for RT to get a jobm CSX to get work, and Don to feel better.

Nice pics, Jeffrey and Tom! You must have a real collection of those old-time cars and especially firetrucks, Tom?

Laz - can't wait to see the Buda Bing "establishment" on your layout, LOL I assume Old Mill is served ice cold? Hey, can you throw a hatchet?

Late evening all!

Well the daughter finally made it home at midnight. The trip via Atlanta got canceled first thing this am. Trips obtained (some direct , some via connections in Chicago, Nashville, Washington Dulles, etc.) for all back to DFW, so no OKC drop offs. Got all but 2 of the kids and 3 adults home tonight. One adult and 2 kids still stuck in NYC, but have a relative there to spend the night with. Two adults got stuck in Wash Dulles airport and are spending the night there. All remaining are on first flights in the am. Son made it home OK on the bus from Colorado. Long day today. Hope to sleep late in the morning. Kids have rest of week off, so I do not expect to see them before 2-3 pm tomorrow. They have not had much rest the last 24-36 hours but they are in good spirits.

Have a great day tomorrow all!

Chuck...I am loading up on garbage disposals and heading for NC. We will make fortune on the black market in Roseyville.

Buckeye, those disposals cause a lot of trouble for the Chief in Roseyville. The last time someone installed one the woman of the house showed up at the town council meeting complaining that garbage disposals did not make it any easier to get trash down the drain. In fact she had to use a stick to get the garbage to finally go down the drain. She said they should be outlawed and that the plumbing company should refund all her money. Concerned for his constituency, Chief adjourned the meeting to her house. Everyone is looking over the diposal and it's installation - the Chief finally walks over to the wall and flips the switch - everyone in the room goes quiet - and the woman of the house finally says "what's that noise?"

John - great photos - how did that CN loco end up in PA????

Roy, great story. I am here late/early. Got called in for a patient with issues. It seems to be OK, but don't want to head to the house until things are all settled.
John, got the catalog from Miniatures yesterday. Saw a few items that may find their way onto the structure. We shall see. Having the kids participate in the construction has made it take longer, but I think it is worth it to have it be a "family" project. They are learning while we work.

Chief, I am on call the first week of May, so we can't make it. Do want to do the trip, perhaps down the road a bit.
Our church is having services Friday Night and again on Sunday Morning. It is a bit different. We will have communion Friday. I think this will be a first for me. Anyway, it should free some time to play trains over the weekend.
Well, I am going to go do rounds and head home. Hope y'all have a great day.
Dennis
