Hello everyone, due to moveing to a smaller house, i have had to down size my layout from 22' x 19' to a small shelf style switching layout. Does anyone know of a site for switching track plans? Thanks!

Hey Steve, sounds like your in the same boat as me. I have a slightly bigger room to work with but im doing a 15" shelf instead of a 24".

Im going to make up my own trackplan as i go. I know i want a single mainline with spurs and a few run-arounds, and a underlayout staging yard. Im also going to have a lift out bridge that crosses the walkway into my room.

If you feel up to it, do what Im doing and just let it come to you as you go along :thumb:  You can always make changes as you go to

Also - do not overlook going modular. You do not have to fit a standard if you do not plan on being part of a club or show (but it can't hurt just in case). One advantage to the modular or sectional units is that they can be stacked for storage. Also, a bar stool and module can go together in the den for closer work that cannot be done on the work bench/desk.
