Locomotive type: Bachmann GP40. The shell is only a couple of years old. The chassis beneath it is thirty years old and still runs. It's powered by a Power Points West can motor.

Already time for a new photo thread! Thanks for getting us started Jeffrey. I'm still working on my wall project in the basement separating the layout from the rest of the family room...almost done. Meanwhile here's a an old photo of combined Penn Central and KP&W action on two levels.

Glen, that's looking great!

Jeffrey, you have quite an ecclectic collection of rolling stock. It's nice to see someone still running the "oldies" and bargains from the discount table at the local train show. I had a bachmann GP-40 as a kid. Saved up money to buy it. It had a pancake motor but it served the purpose.

Here's another view of it.

I got mine back in the 70's. It came with an open frame motor that worked well up until a couple of years ago. The shell is relatively new. The old one was so trash I just finally tossed it out. Last year I removed the old motor and shoe horned in a Power Points West can motor. Regrettably there wasn't room for the flywheels. I still have to find a good front truck for it. It doesn't pick up power at all. The rear truck picks up just fine. For now it's permanently MU'd to the Conrail loco behind it so it has more wheels to pick up from. Kind of like a slug setup.

Canada, eh?
Just a reminder to anybody who'd like to be the one to start the Weekly Photo Fun thread: generally, don't start a new one until the late afternoon or early evening of the Friday following the current WPF thread. If you do start the new Thread, please go to the last page of the previous WPF Thread and "Copy" the following message:

HEY FOLKS, just a reminder, this thread IS CLOSED to pictures...but COMMENTS are still WELCOME.

PLEASE post NEW PICTURES to THE MOST CURRENT "WEEKLY PHOTO FUN" thread. THANK YOU!

"Paste" this into the current WPF Thread as a reply, then sign your name and hit "Post". This will help to keep only the most recent WPF at the top of the page.

Here's something a little different: freshly rolled steel slabs being loaded on railcars, by an overhead crane fitted with "C" hooks. Unfortunately, this was taken on a nightshift, so the cars are barely visible. Many are modified tenders from NKP Berkshires.

Finally think I got some pics to turn out some what decent.
This loco represents several first for me and were inspired after seeing Doc Wayne and CN Nutbars awesome steamers:mrgreen: This is a Mantua Hudson kit I bought some twenty years ago and sat around spray painted black. I always wanted to detail it but never new what road to try to model it after. Finally it hit me to make up my on road and detail it the way I wanted to:twisted: So this is my first steamer, first freelanced road and first homemade decals.

Most of the detail parts came from yardbird trains.com, a link I found here on the gauge:thumb: Some of the piping I made myself. Hope you like it.

Click the pics for a better view.

TrainNut, I LOVE the waterfall scene!
Ralph
Thanks. I'm not entirely thrilled with the way the colors came out but I guess it'll do for my first try at this kind of thing. You have no idea how much work went into that little scene!
